What is there to do near Temple University in Philadelphia?

  There is a certain amount of depression that comes with chronic medical problems, severe limitations, dependence on others, widowhood, etc. Depending on your personality and past experiences, you learn to cope in various degrees. I'm a person who was never depressed. At this time I find that I do quite well during the day time, but at times I am depressed at bedtime. It has been a surprise for me. I tend to be a positive thinker who takes many risks, and is as active as possible. Yet obviously, despite these characteristics I'm not completely immune to age related depression. I must say that I have never had, even now, a problem appreciating myself. I do feel worthwhile. That doesn't seem to enter into my problem. Also, looks and sexiness are not my concerns. It does sound as if you might be having such problems at your tender young age (to me 53 is very young). You might want to explore with yourself, or with a counselor, why you have such feelings. I guess that the best answer is that life is complicated, and not always easy, and we do the best that we can. The best of luck to you on your journey.
