How do I get from Philadelphia to Newark airport?

How can I get to Newark airport from Philadelphia?

  • I will have two big suit cases so i know perhaps public transport is out of the question.

  • Answer:

You can take Amtrak directly from 30th Street Station to Newark. Since many people travel by train, they have racks above you for luggage. Otherwise if you want to drive it, take 95 north to Street Road just north of the city and make a left at the end of the ramp. Take this a couple miles to Route 1 North. As soon as you get on Route 1, take the Pennsylvania Turnpike exit and head east to New Jersey where you'll catch the New Jersey Turnpike head north towards New York. Newark Airport is at exit 14.

When I needed to do that I took a van provided by the airline I was using. I am not sure if you will be able to get the same service but I suggest contacting your airline. The van picked us up in Chinatown in Philadelphia. There might actually be Chinatown bus' that could take you as well.

Amtrak has direct service from Philadelphia 30th St. Station to Newark Airport. If you prefer to drive, just head north on the New Jersey Turnpike. It goes right past the airport. You can check the train schedules and fares at www.amtrak.com.
