How can I buy Septa train tickets?

How do I buy tickets for SEPTA (train)?

  • hey, I'm trying to catch a train leaving from Eastwick station to University City Station but when I looked through google map, it seems that there's no ticketing office at Eastwick station. Now how do I buy tickets? Does a man sell me tickets as I board the train or do I need to pay after I arrive? Need help, first time using a train in Pennsylvania and don't wanna screw up.

  • Answer:

You don't buy tickets. All SEPTA services run this way, you pay two dollars to be admitted into a transportation service. Any bus or train run by septa has a person whom you give two dollars to. If you have never seen it there will be a person behind a counter and there will be a slot in front of them. Slide two dollars in and the person will hit a button which makes a beep, then you pass through and wait for a train. Make sure you are headed in the right direction.
