In the early 1930's, the University of Chicago investigated the possibility of invisibility through the use of electricity. This project was later moved to Princeton's Institute of Advanced Studies. The research went unnoticed and continued on until the 1940's. The ship that was eventually used for the experiment, the USS Eldridge, was commissioned at the New York Navy Yard on August 27, 1943 (Department of the Navy). The principle that lay behind the Philadelphia Experiment (Project Rainbow) was the Unified Field Theory. This theory states that gravity and magnetism are connected, just as mass and energy are connected through the formula E=mc2. Einstein never solved the Unified Field Theory, but the very nature of the Philadelphia Experiment suggests otherwise. The involvement of Dr. Nikola Tesla is often widely discounted as impossible due to the timing of the actual Philadelphia Experiment (Project Rainbow) in October 1943, however the actual theoretical and applicable studies for this project occurred in the early 1930's leading up to the actual Department of the Navy going ahead with similar tests in 1943 (coincidentally shortly after the death of Dr Nikola Tesla). Therefore, it is highly probable that Dr. Nikola Tesla played an integral part of those initial studies at the University of Chicago, and quite possibly at Princeton until his death. At which point the research and all paperwork were confiscated and applied by the leading scientists of the time, such as Dr Albert Einstein shortly after Dr Nikola Tesla's death in 1943. In short, the likelihood that Nikola Tesla played an integral part of Project Rainbow is about 99% probable, for he was the person most likely to be able to have an understanding of electricity and magnetism far beyond even what we know today. Was he directly present in 1943 for Project Rainbow? Not likely, unless you count all of his paperwork on how to do it.
