What is the best hotel in Philadelphia Pa?

  • Okay I admit I am sort of a hotel snob. I like 4 and 5 star hotels. My family and I are going to philly for the weekend and I want a nice hotel but I would like it really close to all the historical things. Does anyone have any suggestion. Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

    If you want to be by the historical sites, you want to stay in Olde City. (Although I agree with the other posters that it would also be great to stay in Rittenhouse.) In Olde City, try to get a room at the Omni. It's fancy, beautiful, and in the heart of Philly's historical sites.

It really depends on what you are looking for. The top two luxury hotels in the city are the four seasons and 1615 rittenhouse. They are both located near the Rittenhouse square area. However, given your preference for historicals, I would check out the Sheraton Society Hill, the Hyatt Penns Landing and the Holiday Inn Historic district, all are in the historic area. You can't go wrong with either, really, if you choose to stay in Rittenhouse, the Phlash shuttle is still running until the end of the month, or its a nice walk.

When you've made your choice of hotel and district , don't be a snob - try to save some money at the best hotel. I live in Philly, I had tro stay at the Holiday Inn on 4th & Arch which is in the historical district. Marriott & Hilton are also in Center City close to shopping a few blocks from all of the history stuff. It is nice. If you want luxury the Four Seasons on the Parkway is the way to go.
