What is a nice hotel to stay at in Philadelphia?

I'm going to spend a day in Philadelphia should I stay in a hotel?

  • I'm flying from Europe to Aruba , with a stop in Philadelphia from 3pm until 8 am the next day. Should i book a hotel? , or can I just stay in the airport and Wait for the flight. I really don't mind staying at the airport I have the patience. Just asking since I've never been in New York.

Sounds to me like you have a whole day to party it away. If that's what you intend to do then I suggest doing your research and finding the best places to have fun and not get into any trouble. Discover the "bad" areas in which to steer away from. Philadelphia is full of history if your not the party type, so the same applies, find out how long each place will take you to visit ,and if it is in your best interest to visit it. Can you also afford a hotel in Philadelphia, and is the hotel accommodating, or rat infesting? Make sure that you just plan it all out. Sleeping at the airport though, can be very annoying, trying to sleep in those semi-hard chairs; they were not built for sleep, but for temporary comfort. Not to mention all these people walking around chatting and talking while trying to sleep, possible theft if you sleep (really though, your not going to stay awake through it all..you think and wish you could) So the question really is..do you want to play and rest, or rest in an airport without really getting any rest at all. Therefore, will you be awake when you make it to your final destination? Just ask yourself, What would the rapper Pitbull do?

So are you going to Philadelphia or New York. They're about 100 miles apart. Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania. It's not the patience, spending the night in the airport is just horrid. You try to sleep on the most uncomfortable chairs, and then you're awaken because you have to move so they can clean the section you're in. Then they do it again. There is a Microtel and an Econo Lodge near the airport in Philadelphia. Both are inexpensive and have complimentary shuttle to the airport. I would check in to staying at one of those so you can get a decent night's sleep and don't start your vacation to Aruba poorly.

The airport in Phila is a lousy one to hang in on a normal day, let alone overnight. If you have the bucks a night at Motel 6 won't kill you. There are some motels in about 5 mins south of the airport that will do for the night.

If money's really tight and you are able to sleep from Europe to Philly the entire way you could pull it off. The bottom of your email says New York though? So is it philly or NY? If you're doing Philly, when you get there at 3pm you should hop on the septa train to "Center City" (near baggage claim) check the schedule for the last return train though i don't know if they run all night. You can check it at septa.org and look for the airport line. So presumably you need to catch either the last train back at night or the first train if there's one before 6am as you obviously need to be at the international terminal around 6am. Ok so when you get to Philly, do you want to see the history or do you want to go out to the bars and clubs? If you want to see history, there's a ton of it, get off the train at market street station, find yourself a map and you can spend a lot of time looking at history (Independence Hall where the country started) the liberty bell (a lot of this might be closed by time you get there but you can see it from outside) Also, you can go to the art museum and see where Rocky ran up the steps (his statue is outside and visible all night long) You may be able to catch a hockey game or a basketball game or if it's sunday a American Football game. Any of those would be fun. Now keep in mind you probably don't want to wander downtown philly all night as it gets a little dodgey after 2am. Don't forget to have a cheesesteak and a philly pretzel that's some of the foods Philly is famous for. Hope that's helpful!

If i were you i would get a hotel but if u could dont stay at the hotel too long, cuz i heard Philadelphia is a beautiful place, so u should walk around, try the Philly cheese steaks and enjoy the time while ur at Philadelphia if of course you can go out of the airport!?
