How do I get from Philadelphia to Newark airport?

So i booked a flight with continental and its put me on a train from philadelphia to newark.......?

  • i booked a ticket using continental airlines i want to go from philadelphia to birmingham (uk) its put me on a train ( well it says the "airport" im traveling from is zfve which is philadelphia rail station) from philadelphia 30th street station to newark then flying from newark 2 hours later. Which is fine but i have a few questions. 1) do i go to the train station show them my e-ticket and in theory jump on a train or do i have to go to the airport sort something out then find my way to 30th street station then get a ticket and get on a train (i no it sounds like a simple answer but trust me after the problems i've had its best to check) 2) what if my trains late and i miss my flight? 3) why do Continental do this. I was meant to do the whole train + plane thing on my way to philadelphia but trains were cancelled so at newark i was put on a train so now im traveling back and im a bit wary incase my trains cancelled or i miss a flight. :) as much information as you can manage please

    You really need to call Continental and ask. I checked PHL to BHX on www.continental.com and got normal routes, with a flight of about an hour from Philadelphia to Newark.

Why are you waiting until Monday to call them. It's an airline and it's the United States. Someone will be there to answer the phone on Sunday evening. Don't call the airport, call the main Continental phone number at 1-800-932-2732. Once the computer answer keep hitting the 0 until you can talk to a person. Continental's main east coast hub is at Newark. If you were flying into Philadelphia, you should have used US Air since Philadelphia is its east coast hub. Newark and Philadelphia aren't far enough apart where flying a plane makes any sense.

The reason for all this is simple. Continental's main hub is EWR. All their international flights leave there. Missed train is just like a missed flight. So yes, you go to 30th street with your ticket and exit at the station at EWR. Next time, Just fly British Airways.

You need to take Airport Line to Amtrak-30th St Station. There is no surcharge on SEPTA's Airport Line Then you have two options. You could take Amtrak from Amtrak-30th St Station to Newark Liberty International Airport Station. $5.50 AirTrain fee is included in Amtrak ticket. Than take AirTrain Newark to your terminal. Keith is wrong. Only New Jersey Transit that stops at Amtrak-30th St Station is only Atlantic City line, which does not go to Newark Airport. In order to get to Newark Airport, you need to take SEPTA Trenton Line to Trenton Transit Center for New Jersey Transit's Northeast Corridor to Newark Liberty International Airport. Before you board the train, make sure to buy your ticket, because when machines are operating or ticket windows are open, $2 surcharge on SEPTA Regional Rail, and $5 surcharge on New Jersey Transit train. There are New Jersey Transit Ticket Vending Machines available at Amtrak-30th St. Buy one way ticket to Newark Liberty International Airport.
