Where in south philly is safe?

West of Broad Street is generally better than east of Broad Street. However, this is a blanket statement, and you should visit the area you are going to. One area to avoid in particular would be Point Breeze, and pretty much everything south of Snyder Avenue is decent. I hope this information was very helpful.

South Philly is a pretty safe place on the whole. but some neighborhoods you can consider are Bella Vista (around 6th and Catherine area just south of South Street), Fishtown and Northern Liberties, East Falls, Roxborough, Manayunk, and Chestnut Hill. and not to miss Port Richmond. these are safe place with nice houses and homes. generally speaking, South Philly is safer than most other Philly areas. no particularly bad area to avoid. you just avoid North Philly. i hope this could help you.

Pennsport, Brewerytown and Fishtown are places that have sprung up in the midst of notoriously bad neighborhood. Don't believe the hype on them. I grew up in South Philly just near what they call Pennsport now. That area isn't the best. I still go down there to visit family and friends and trust me, it's coming up in price but they still have problems. Where I live currently is just near East Falls and not too far from Brewerytown. Brewerytown just had two shootings last weeks. I think that covers that. As for Fishtown, it's notorious for junkies, home invasions and robberies.
