What do you guys think of Upper Darby,PA?

  Upper Darby township is huge and encompasses some very nice areas (Secane, Drexel Hill, Westbrook Park, Primos just to name a few) - but when you speak of Upper Darby as a place and not as a township, it normally refers to the areas in and around 69th Street, from Market Street to Marshall road, and the surrounding areas (Long Lane, Bywood and so on). The 69th Street shopping area went into decline when Springfield and Granite Run malls were built in the 70s, and the rest of the Upper Darby area went with it. You can find very affordable housing there, either to rent or buy, but the area is not as safe or as nice as other suburbs. It is not "inner city" by any means but it is a place to be cautious. The famous concert venue, the Tower Theater is on 69th Street near Market. The 69th Street Terminal is a big public transportation hub, linking the Norristown High Speen Line, the Media and Sharon Hill trolleys and suburban buses with the Market Frankford El line.
