Where do you like to go in Philadelphia?

18 Years old, just moved to Philadelphia. Where do I go?

  • I moved to Philadelphia about a month ago, and I really have no idea where to go. I've done the South Street thing (you can only go there so many times before you get bored) I've walked around Old City, Rittenhouse Square, etc. I'm a bit young to be going to bars and clubs, so what else is there to do? Anything that is FREE would be even better.

    There are two bowling alleys I know of in the City: Lucky Strikes and North Bowl. They may or may not have something where you'd have to be out by a certain time on a Friday or Saturday or something, but I don't know. You could always walk up by the Art Museum and check out around there. It's free on Sundays to go inside, but in all honesty, on a nice day, the outside of it is the best. You could spend hours up there. A nice tour is the front steps of the Art Museum, down to City Hall on the BF Pkwy, then up Market into Drexel's campus. That's another thing...have you tried going up to the campuses? Everyone there is around the same age as you in their freshman year. There are lots of parties all around both campuses, but if you can, don't go alone. It can get hairy on both campuses at night. I'd steer clear of Temple too...that's one of the rougher neighborhoods in Philly. Don't forget Sunday tailgating down at the Linc. Get there around 8am for a Sunday game, and you can take the trains (South end of the Broad Street Line)

bowling, going out to eat just finding new places and meeting new ppl. There are some very intersesting ppl in this city. but i suggest you find a fake id or just go to some college parties

Philadelphia has so much history, I have lived here all my life. On Wed. nights all of the musuems are free (Art Musuem, Franklin Institute, Academy of Natural Sciences, etc.) There are roller skating rinks and Imax theaters. You can also take a tour of Philadelphia to learn more about the City. Don't forget to venture out to the Zoo!

Try Dave & Busters....although it can get a little expensive. How do feel about sports? The Wings indoor Lacrosse league is starting up in a couple of months. It's cheap and a lot of fun. They play at the Wachovia Center. Check out the Camden Aquarium.

I was born and raised in Philly. Definitely hot spots to go is South Street downtown, Chinatown and Center City where there are all the clubs, resteraunts and is the cultural core of the entire city. If you're interested in history and scary stuff, I would highly recommend the "Ghost tour through Philadelphia." A guide takes you on a tour of Old City and talks about all the hauntings through each historic building. Very creepy. ^___^
