Answer:
*Franklin Institute is cool *Academy of Natural Sciences - the big draw there is the dino hall *the historical stuff is pretty neat - Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross house, Independence Hall. Not really "fun" but interesting, and you can do them quickly *Duck tours are cool - they go in the water and on the land and take you by all the good sites\ *There is an aquarium in Camden, and I think the Duck tour or another river tour will drop you off there. It's best to go that route because Camden is not really a safe place *Phillies games are fun *There are sometimes activities at Penn's Landing *The Mutter Museum is very cool *The Philly Zoo is really big and really nice *South Street is a cool area for people-watching and shopping

The franklin institute or please touch museum are great choices (althought the latter may be too young for you) There is great shopping around Chestnut St- near Liberty Place. You could go to South Street, or visit Old City. In NJ there is the Camden Aquarium and down rt 38 toward Mt Holly, there is a family fun center- it's huge, but I don't know the name of it but if you are traveling from Phila to Mt Holly, it's on the right (I have no idea which direction that is) There are also tons of farms and in the summer/spring there are horse back riding trails and orchard picking trips.

Franklin Institute is a great idea. Philadelphia Phillies games are always a blast. If you're into shopping, The King of Prussia Mall is gigantic.

The Franklin Institute is fun, but there's a lot more in this city to see. There's something called the Mutter Museum, which displays all kinds of medical oddities and is kind of neat...requires a stronger stomach than regular museums though. Someone did mention the Ducks, which would be alright as well. You could also try and head out into Waterford Township. It's still considered Camden County, but is the beginning of the Pine Barrens. You can take Route 70 West until you get to the Route 72 circle...there's all kinds of paths and at least one of the old fire lookout towers is still open and you can climb it. There's also a place called Dave and Busters. It's expensive and it's crowded, but it's a waterfront restaurant with a bunch of games inside. It's really big and just off of Delaware Avenue, but if it's going to be nice outside, I'd skip it. You can also tour all of the different ships on the water, like the USS New Jersey on the Camden side, then the two other ships and submarine on the Philly side. They should be open for tours by now. There's also an aircraft carrier still docked (I think) at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. I don't think you can tour it at all, but it'd be cool to pull up to and check out.

Definitely do the Franklin Institute. Also consider the nearby Mutter Museum for some creepy fun: http://www.collphyphil.org/mutter.asp You should think about the Big Bus Tour or the Duck Tour as a great way to see a lot of the city, especially if the weather is good. For more ideas, check out this site: http://www.GoPhila.org/ There's a great calendar of events in and around the city.

Franklin Institute is a little young but it's still fun. I hate to break it to you but it's still educational!!! I like the Natural Museum of Natural Sciences.... it's like a block from the FI. They always have interested displays going on. http://www.ansp.org/museum/index.php they have a great exhibit that you walk through a butterfly chamber and let them land all over you. Since your a little older- a fun historical thing to do- it the old prison. It's super haunted and it's amazing to learn about the American prison system. It's been on all the ghost shows.... http://www.usatoday.com/travel/destinations/2008-04-17-prison-synagogue_N.htm?csp=34 http://www.easternstate.org/ Everyone I have taken there- loved it no matter what the age. I have been there like 5 times and I still want to go back. I don't know if the Mutter Museum is still open to the public but FYI- you need a strong stomach to go in there. Some people freak out because it's a doctor's museum and there are a lot of deformed babies that are jarred. I had to go there for art school to draw human skulls.
