Things to do around Philadelphia?

What are some fun things to do in Philadelphia?

  • I'm hosting an exchange student and I live 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia. I already took him to the rocky statue and city hall and a phillies game. What are some other things that we can do that would be fun? We're 17 and can drive. Anything around Philadelphia works too. Thanks!

If they'll be here for the next month or so, the river rink at Penn's Landing should be open soon, I went to south street tonight, there's also a TON of good restaurants all over the city, just poke around a couple of food sites to find a million of them, and see what you like. the Italian market on ninth st is also a good time, so long as you go early when it's open. At the end of the market, 9th and Passyunk, is the corner with Pat's and Geno's (Geno's is better. Not sure where exactly you're at, but Leos in Sharon Hill is by far the best cheesesteak.) The melting pot is another fun restaurant, but on the pricey side. Old City is great all the time, morning noon, or night. Try the Duck Ride, Dave and Busters on Columbus Blvd. There's always concerts at the Trocadero, (spelling?) The Electric Factory, the TLA are all music places Another early morning one is the Reading Terminal Market, be there before noon Jewelers row if you're into it. (window shopping too) Sight-Seeing, All over the place. There's a ton of parks. Another one I did recently is Ridley Creek state park, There's a historic mansion, and plenty of trails to walk, or ride bikes on, that's about 30-40 minutes from where I live near the airport. Not in phila, but closeby since you can drive. John Heinz near the airport is the same, minus the mansion Back in the city, is the Art museum, and there's tons of other museums, There's also the parks in the city, and tons of other stuff to do PS You can get almost anywhere in the city relatively cheap using SEPTA Regional rail, they have a feature on their website called plan your trip. They will walk you through where when, what train, or bus, and which station. For someone who doesn't regular use Mass Transit, it's a lifesaver.

You can go to the Philadelphia museum of arts

Drink so much that you can't figure out what's going on around you and then go to a car dealership, 'borrow' a car, and take it for a test drive.

Reading Terminal Market, Eastern State Penitentiary, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, Independence Hall, The Liberty Bell, South St.
