People in pennsylvania?

What is pennsylvania and the people that live there like?

  • im asking this because i have to move there and im kinda scared because im 14 and pennsylvania is way different from where i live now in kentucky! i dont know anyone down there.

  • Answer:

Pennsylvania Is a big state, 46, 000 square miles to be (close) to exact. kentucky is pretty big too, 40,000 square miles, but similarities end there. PA is the 10th most populace state in the Union with well over 12 million, there are only about 4 million in Kentucky, which ranks 22nd. PA has two very large cities, Philadelphia (the 5th largest city in the US) and Pittsburgh. It has several significant smaller cities, which are bigger than most cities in Kentucky. The largest metro area in Kentucky is the Louisville metro area, with about a half a million people. The Philadelphia metro area (Delaware Valley) has 5 million. But, Philadelphia has lots of counties that are nearly empty, and great for hunting and fishing. It also has great rolling hills and farmland. Pennsylvania has a large a divers e population with people of all races and cultures and religions. It has a fairly strong economy and it is a Commonwealth, which means that the power of government is centered at its smallest levels. Borough, townships and cities have far more autonomy and Counties have less control. But, it is very, very different from one part to another. For example, Pittsburgh has its pro teams, and Philly has its pro teams, and people from opposite ends of the state act like they come from different universes. Tell us what part of Pennsylvania, and maybe we can tell you more.

Depends on the part of PA. The Philadelphia area is lot more liberal than the South, less formal, sort of a busy area but with a lot of cultural richness, delicious food (famous for its Italian food, cheesesteaks and water ice) and passionate sports fans.

It depends on where you are going. If you happen to be moving to State College, don't worry it's a great place.

Pennsylvania is north of kentucky. There aren't many differences between the two states. Pennsylvania might be slightly less conservative in urban areas. It's slightly cooler and closer to the Atlantic ocean. There are more cities and universities.

It depends on what part of pennsylvania you are moving to. If you are going to the Philadelphia area, expect the people to be rude nasty east coast jerks, muck like the people in its closest "suburb" New Jersey. Oh, and watch your change when you buy stuff. Even grandmothers in bagel shops managed to short change me on several occasions. If you are moving to the Western or middle part of the state expect the people to be nice midwesterners, not too different (although faster speaking) than the people you already know.

It depends. We are big State(Actually we are a Commonwealth) And we are actually very different in different parts of the state. Erie is awesome, they have Lake Erie, very cold, snowy winters & are close to Canada. The Coal is region is nice, they have mountains & interesting culture. Pittsburgh is nice,Great medium sized city. Capital Region is nice they have allot of Commerce there. The Poconos are wonderful & beautiful place to live. Philadelphia is big city,I like it there. Central Pa is very affordable to live, but it is not a diverse place to live. The Northern Tier is also affordable to live, but it can be hard to find a job. Ohh..and some people from Central Pennsylvania do have sort of Kentucky sounding accent. I don't know why though.
