Since you posted this in the Philadelphia section, I assume you're coming to the Philly area. Philadelphia is a very historic city. Take the Constitutional Walking Tour (http://www.theconstitutional.com/) Take a trolley tour: http://www.phillytour.com/ Philly has a world class art museum: http://www.philamuseum.org/visit/ Philly is very proud of its Mummer Parades every year. There is a museum where you can see their past costumes and other things: http://www.mummersmuseum.com/home.html Philly is famous for its cheesesteaks, and the two most famous cheesesteak places, Pat's and Geno's, are right by each other: http://www.patskingofsteaks.com/ http://www.genosteaks.com/ Not a fancy neighborhood, not fancy eateries, but very, very popular and much loved. Reading Terminal Market has a variety of great eats and other things to buy. The gyros are the best, the Mexican food is gourmet, Delilah's for the best soul food, and the Amish apple dumplings are out of this world (they have good food for meals, too). Le Bus breads and baked goods are unrivaled anywhere. If you want fine dining, there's a lot to choose from. http://www.phillymag.com/restaurants/index.html Philly's funky area is South Street, within walking distance of Center City. Many of the old rich live in the Chestnut Hill section in the northwest corner of the city. A lovely villagey feeling, some good restaurants, and beautiful mansions. Don't miss seeing at least part of Fairmount Park, the park that runs through the north and west ends of the city. It's big, and different parts have different characters. The part by the art museum is on the river, with landscaped gardens and statuary. It becomes picnic areas with a long paved walkway on which people rollerblade and bicycle as well as walk or run. In the Germantown, West Mt. Airy and Chestnut Hill sections of the park, it's wilderness, with hiking and horseback riding trails, the chance to do some rock climbing, mountain biking, fishing along Wissahickon Creek and a fitness trail. There's a gourmet restaurant in it, the Valley Green Inn.

I don't know what area of PA you're visiting, so I'll give you some information on a few places in PA where I've traveled. In Erie, visit Presque Isle State Park. They have a beach and hiking trails. If you're around Wellsboro (which is located in north-central PA), visit the Grand Canyon of the East. It's a very scenic place. I was there in the fall one year, and the fall colors were spectacular. In Pittsburgh, visit The National Aviary, Pittsburgh Zoo, and take a ride on the trams at the Duquense Incline and the Monongala Inclines. The view of Pittsburgh fromt the top is incredible. Also, I recommend taking a Pittsburgh Duck Tour. I was in Pittsburgh in May and took the tour (and went to the other attractions mentioned). It's a very fun and informative tour of the city, done on land and water. In Philadelphia, visit The Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and run up the steps of the Art Museum (like in the movie Rocky). You'll get a great view from the top. Not far from Philadelphia is Lancaster, Pa. You can take an Amish bus tour and learn about the Amish people. I took one of the tours and it was very interesting.
