What do you think when you hear Philadelphia?

Is there a garden atop one of the major buildings in Philadelphia, possibly the free library?

  • Hi, I have heard a rumor that there is a garden area atop one of the major buildings in Philadelphia. I think it may be the Free Library of Philadelphia, but can not find any evidence. I hear it can be used for weddings or other various events? Does anyone know if such a place exists?

  • Answer:

The Free Library of Philadelphia has something called a "Green Roof". It isn't a garden in the traditional sense, but it is organic covering for the roof that is more energy efficient. The green roof is viewable by the public (it's a demonstration pilot) but I'm not sure if it's available for events. You'd have to contact the Free Library for that.
