hey suga mama, im from camden, nj which is about five minutes from philly. very close. right now moving to philly is not the best thing. there is the nickname, "Killadelphia" because of the many crimes that are happening. it seems everytime i turn on the news there's a shooting. moving to philly from OK is a big difference. philly is very cultured and diverse, and packed! it's a beautiful city with great food and there's always something to do esp. in the summertime. drvining and parking in philly is the worse a lot of people use the bus to get around. it's crazy. i suggest the first thing you do when you get to philly is go on south st. (passyunk) and get an authentic cheesesteak from either Pat's or Geno's (my fave is the latter. they make the best cheese wiz ones) sit down and relax. the good thing about it is that both places are across the street from each other so if one line is long (and they usually are) you can always go to the other one lol. philly is a great city, but right now it's a lot of shooting. please careful when you do come here.

Bore sum 1 else w/ ur question!

The first thing you want to do before you move is check out the cost of rent, utilities, groceries, book rental at the schools, etc. The cost of living might be a lot higher in or near Philly than it is where you are from. Make sure you can afford to live there before you move !! Good luck !!!

The cost of living is alot more here. PLEASE make sure you live a safer parter of the city. Murders are really bad..2 a day

Check out the rentals or home prices around and in Philadelphia. I live in Northeast Philadelphia, which is very large. There are other areas that are diverse and not crime ridden (Mt. Airy; Germantown; Chestnut Hill). In some areas of the City, the crime is pretty bad, but as a resident I can say that I feel safe in Philadelphia. I am sure that Philadelphia is much safer than Camden (which is a big ghetto). Once you arrive in PA, check out housing, the different areas, the employment, schools. Philadelphia is a wonderful city, despite the crime, and I am sure you will be very happy here. Good luck.

this part of the country is much more expensive to live in than oklahoma. you should research places you can afford. jersey's taxes will shock you. your best bet for economy is to be 50 miles north or west of the city. the first thing to do in pa? anything. the scenery is so vastly different from your state it will amaze you! the jersey shore, the pocono mts, lancaster, and of course, all the history in the city itself. i love living in pa!

I live about 2&1/2 hours from Phila. in Scranton,Pa. We often travel to Phila. for concerts,Pro football and baseball and basketball games. Phila. is a wonderful city with the best restaurants, museums, and hospitals. If I were you, I'd live on the outskirts: Conshohocken or King of Prussia are nice.
