Is philadelphia safe and is it nice to live?

Is Rising Sun Ave in Northeast Philadelphia a safe location to live ?

• My family and i want to move to philadelphia. We searched around and found one house on the Rising Sun Ave. I searched a lots about this location, and saw a lots bad/good comments about this location. So can some one who actually live on or used to live on this street give me some comments about this place. My family just have 1 girl, and she will go to templeU this fall. Thanks

  My grandfather used to live on Rising Sun Ave. It definitely has changed in the past few years. There are some locations that are more shady than others. If you are looking for a place near Temple's campus you should be fine. There is plenty of security and campus police for safety. If you want a place close to a bunch of pawn shops and beer distributors, I would say no deal. Temple is a good school (I have family who goes there) and the campus is safe. Hope this helps!
