Which city is more dangerous, Detroit or Philadelphia?

Is Philadelphia a really ghetto city like Detroit?

i live in philly and if you go to the wrong parts yeah its ghetto but if you go to the good parts theres a lot of nice people like where genos and pats steaks are in south philly everyone around there is madd nice but you go in the west side a kid threw a snowball at a guy so the guy shot him its pretty bad but it all depends where u go

Some sections are pretty rough..but Center City is a nice area. It has its good and bad neighborhoods just like any other city.

I've never been to Detroit, but parts of Philly are definitely real ghettos (mostly North) and some of the parts that aren't simply just have the east coast attitude. The neighborhood that was filmed in was South Philly which was predominantly lower middle class Italian and Irish (at least it was then), now it's Italian, Irish, Korean, AA and young white urbanites. Most of Philly's ethnic neighborhoods (whether Italian, Irish, AA or Polish) have a east coast attitude (which is the in your face, ballsy, rude mentality). Obviously this is a generalization of large segments of people, how each behaves is based on individual personalities, but most can easily cross back and forth between talking trash and being civil.

Yeah it is. Crime rate isnt as high but its a dirty city in many parts(specifically North and West). Baltimore MD and Newark and Camden NJ too. Im from Fort Pierce, Fl. We are in the top 5 in the country for highest crime rates, but all those places I mentioned were some of the most ghetto looking places Ive driven through. http://www.areaconnect.com/crime/compare.htm
