What to do for fun in Harrisburg, PA?

Is Harrisburg, PA a good place to visit? Is it safe?

  • I'm visiting from Canada this summer and am wondering if Harrisburg would be a good place to visit. Also, is the crime rate high in Harrisburg? Would Pittsburgh be a more fun place? (not going out to clubs. other kinds of fun stuff) Also, I'm bringing my dog, does anyone know what kinds of things I can do with my dog in Harrisburg? And what places I could go to? Thanks so much!

    Harrisburg is not a bad little city, and it is the state capital of Pennsylvania, so there are many museums and other historical sites to visit in Harrisburg and around the area. As for crime, it is not that bad, but there are parts of the city you want to stay away from, not that you would go to those parts anyway. Pittsburgh is bigger and may have more to do, and crime is not really a problem there. As for the dog, you may want to consider a doggie day care while you go out exploring.
