FUN things to do in Philadelphia?

  • I'm going to be Philadelphia in afew weeks to see the Cowboys vs Eagles game. And I'm planning on being there for about 5 days. We already plan to see the Liberty Bell and eat at Gino's; but what are some other things (that tourists wouldn't know about) to do? WHAT ARE SOME HIDDEN TREASURES this city has to offer? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanx so much.

    Rent a bike and take a daylight trip through Fairmount Park. There are a lot of scenic paths, a zoo, the waterworks restaurant,trolley tours, and artworks.

Shop on South St. (Front to 8th St.) or Walnut St. (Broad to 18th St.). Party in clubs on Delaware Ave. Throw a penny on Ben Franklin's grave (supposed to be good look). The Franklin Institute and The Art Museum.

We would find old lighters, soda bottles, my friend still has a vending machine from the 1970's in his garage, I have a huge collection of retro junk myself. we would find briefcases with documents from the 1950's, civil rights documents, all kinds of crap. The strangest thing we found was a suicide note from 1979. It's like it just sat there 30 odd years and we were the first to find it. But that's probably not your deal. But you should definetly splunk through an abandond building sometime. I'ts fun.
