What to do in Philadelphia?

• I'm going to be visiting my friend in about 3 weeks in Philadelphia, and we're trying to make an "itinerary" for what all we're going to do. Unfortunately we can't think of anything to do. any suggestions places to eat, visit, shop, etc. thank you in advance

  First off the Cheese-steak is a must. First rule of eating the best is this. The more you spend on it the worse it is. If you want the best in Philly spend no more than 4 bucks on it. and it better come with fries. The more you spend on it, the meat becomes a higher, thicker grade. The meat and the cheese should be melting together hard to tell where one ends and the other starts. Try to have at least one steak a day. from various places. don't be afraid of small family owned corner stores with a grill. They are probably in business cause they sell a great steak. go ahead and have a few 7 dollar steaks as well you will see I am right about cheaper the better. The bread is almost meat itself. something about Philadelphia's weather or climate or humidity but the bread is perfect for the sandwich. Skip the Franklin Institute. It is not as amazing as it sounds. unless you run out of things to do. and then still skip it. The Penn museum is good. it won't take all day but it is a good afternoon. The Historic Park area near 5th and Chestnut in Old City is a must for anyone's first visit. You can walk the whole thing and there are plenty of Park Rangers to answer questions. To do it right spend at least 2 full days at this. You could do a horse and carriage tour if you do so ask for Abe, Tammy, or Tommy. They are the three best Horse Tour Guides. They work for two different tour companies. but on any given day at least one of them should be working. A Hefty amount of their pay is from tips and you will want to tip after a tour from any of the three. They really love their horses.
