What's the best neighborhood in Philadelphia for kids & a quick train ride to Market St station?
-
We are moving to Philly in June with 1.5 kids ;o) and my husband will be working in Center City (market st station). I've been looking at places inside and outside of the city and now am all confused. Was set on Chestnut Hill, but there are very few town home or stand alone homes for rent. Any other neighborhoods good for quick transport to MSS AND great for kids?

network marketing training Top 5 Sales Myths Written on March 6, 2012 by Larry and Perry in Network Marketing Training Share A friend sent me this this morning. Thought is was pertinent to our line of business. 1. The Customer Is Always Right This myth has been repeated so many times that many people think it’s a law of nature. In fact, customers are frequently unreasonable and overly demanding. A big part of selling is educating such customers so that they have more realistic expectations. 2. Customers Know What They Want In fact, customers frequently often have bizarre ideas about what they want and need, consequently about what they ought to buy. Don’t cater to these whims. It’s up to you to figure out what’s actually needed and provide your best opinion about how to satisfy that need. 3. Every Prospect Is a Potential Sale If you think that everyone is a customer, you’ll end up pursuing fictional opportunities. (This is called “chasing garbage trucks, not Brinks trucks.”) If you’re selling something, your No. 1 job is to eliminate prospects that don’t have enough money to buy your offering or don’t have enough need to justify the purchase. That will let you focus on your actual prospective customers. 4. You Should Never Take ‘No’ for an Answer When prospects have all sorts of objections to buying, you’re probably wasting your time trying to sell to them. Sales opportunities are like buses; another one comes along every 15 minutes. Don’t obsess on any one deal–and always remember that if you hear “no” more than once, it means “no.” 5. The Best Salespeople Are Extroverts Many of today’s sales situations are best suited for people who are a little bit introverted, and better at listening than talking. In fact, some of the best and most effective sales training today are based on listening techniques originally developed for psychologists and counselors–who aren’t known for being extroverted.

The regional trains all go to Market street station, so that you could live in a suburb, and be there in less than a half hour. You could live on the Main Line, or in places such as Abington, Jenkintown, Cheltenham, Willowgrove, Upper or Lower Moreland. Abington was chosen as best place to live by Money Magazine. They have excellent schools, lovely homes. I'm not sure how many stand alone homes are for rent.

life in the city is dangerous no matter were you go, especially with kids. plus the Philadelphia school district has been having a lot of problems with kids that attend their schools. the best thing to do would to be to live outside of the city.

South Philadelphia and West Philadelphia Equally (it used to be dangerous but it has cooled down a lot since 2007) Its by far probably the best neighborhood in the city but by far the best place out-of-state in the Philadelphia Metro would be to just live in Moorestown, NJ honestly it has better schools and very convienent for commuters if your husband is not into paying double state taxes and doesnt want to commute I suggest the prime district of West Philadelphia,...avoid Overbrook, Overbrook Farms and Overbrook Park, in Center City; Market East Neighborhood, Avenue of The Arts neighborhood, Old City neighborhood South Philadelphia is Amazing and Very Entertaining With All The Sports and Recreation, Parks, Historic Areas and Not to Far From Downtown Philadelphia It is REALLY Nice in South Philly I Wish You and Your Family Luck in Finding a Place in The City of Brotherly Love

Try to not live in the city, for many reasons. First we have a city wage tax to go along with state and federal income tax. If you live outside the city and work in the city it is a much lower rate. I suggest looking at NJ. Collingswood and Haddonfield are on PATCO ( a 24 hr a day light rail train. Crime is really high in Philly and it is one of the dirtiest cities in America. NJ has some of the best public schools on the east coast.
