For past visitors of Disney World Resort Orlando: Do they give you a pamphlet with event times?

At the park's entrance when you get in they have maps and the maps will tell you showtimes and tells you how long the park is open and how long rides are open.

There are maps at the entrances of all the parks. All show times and parade times are listed on each map. They change the maps weekly to up date times. The front desk should have maps to all four parks. I have stayed at a WDW resort 5 times. I find the cast members to be very helpful. If the front desk doesn't know the answer to your question, they will find it. At the parks you can ask any cast member what time a show or parade is or where something is located. Many cast members will cheerfully answer the question "What time is the 2 o'clock parade" Yes that gets asked several time each day. Animals Kingdom Lodge and the Polynesian are our two favorite resorts. You can also look on line at the WDW web site. Parade times will be listed. Along with park opening and closing times. And magic hour times for each park

Yes you can pick up a schedule at any of the WDW resorts. They are small white 1 sheet inserts for the park maps. Last Dec they actually had ones at the resorts with a coupon at the bottom for 1/2 a pirate make over. ETA: Show times are no longer printed on the maps themselves but on the inserts. It has been this way for few years. Show times change through the year so instead of making different maps they have one map for each park and then print out the inserts with the show times.

You can plan in advance by going to the WDW website for you stay and see what's on. The hotels will have information and once you get to the parks - the schedule is readily available when you come in or at a central location. Have fun.
