How is it in Pinellas County Florida?

  • As of right now, My boyfriend and I live in Buffalo, NY. Recently my boyfriend was offered a job down in St.Pete Flordia, painting cars and collision for Shmidts Auto Body. We live in a little quiet town called corfu, not much action, rainy/warm 6 months out of the year, and snowy/wet for the other 6. If he was to accept the job we'd have to start looking for a place in florida to live. I personally would like to go in Pinellas County, I was thinking like, Treasure Island, Clearwater, Gulfport. somewhere in that area. My question is, whats it like down there? The weather? Bad storms? Lots to do? Good night life? Hows the cost of living? Lot of crime? Is it safe? Overall Id like to hear what some of the people that actually live there have to say about it. The good and the Bad

    Well I have lived in Clearwater and in Tampa. The weather in the Clearwater area that you are asking about is warm, its warm pretty much year round. Winters in the area are mild with temps staying mostly in the 50's and 60's with a bit of range above and below that average. There are storms, but the area is known for its lightning so that shouldn't be too much of a surprise. It is sunny far more than stormy in the area. There is a lot to do, you are near St. Pete and Tampa if you live in Clearwater and both areas have a vibrant night life. Clearwater itself has bars but for clubs I would reccomend Ybor City in Tampa which is a few strips packed with nightclubs and it is not a long drive from Clearwater. Cost of living is not bad for being in a city like area. As for crime that depends on what area you lived in. I lived in Largo which is sort of like a suburb of Clearwater and I worked in Clearwater at one of the hospitals there. The area I lived in was not the best spot but I never experienced any crime myself. Overall I enjoyed Clearwater. It is a fun place to live, lots to do, beaches and eateries along with shopping destinations are plentiful.

You obviously DO NOT live in Buf, NY. It is NOT warm 6 mo out of the year!! More like 3months. The weather? HOT HOT TOO HOT Bad storms? Being from Ohio, no bad storms. Lots to do? TONS to do, everywhere Good night life? BEST night life anywhere, so much to do!! Hows the cost of living? On the high side, cost to have fun. Lot of crime? Honestly someone is shot and killed every night, we were shocked. If your not shot you get run over or beaten to death. Is it safe? NO
