Has anyone ever went to disney world and on the disney cruise?
-
I heard there is a package where you can go to disney for like 3 days and on the cruise from there for 4 days. Has anyone ever done this? If so, How much did it cost per person and was it fun/ worth it? What did you do on cruise? And where did you go?

Answer:
I have done both. I work as an agent for 3D Travel Company which specializes in Disney Vacations. What you are talking about is a land and sea package. Sometimes it is a great way to travel, but if there are good discounts (like free dining) sometimes it is better to book Disney World separate from your cruise. Your price per person is really dependent on so many things. For example, what time of year are you cruising, what level of stateroom would you like to stay in (there are 12), what cruise itinerary are you looking at (where do you want to go)? You cannot really give a ballpark price for a cruise, there are just too many variables. The cruises are VERY fun. Castaway Cay is beautiful! I could not believe how clear the water is! I was in water well over 10 feet deep and I could see the sand like it was only a few inches away. It was like pool water. Also I am from Houston, our beach has warm water, this was not cold but cooler and really refreshing on a hot day. The water slide that you swim out to has you come out in the ocean instead of a pool and was FAST. The adults only beach was amazing and we found a live sand dollar. On the ship itself there is dancing, bingo, karaoke, the shows, some of the best food I have ever had, first run movies that are still in theaters at home playing in an onboard movie theater and in your room. There are 3 pools, a spa, fitness center, sports bars... So many things you will never be able to do it all in 3 or 4 days. Disney World is always fun! And if you can do it WITH a cruise? You will never be bored, you will have fun, and you will come home tired. :0)' If you want a free quote you can go to our company's site and request one. You are under no obligation, but it would at least give you an idea for pricing. Good luck!

That is the land and sea package and yes I did that last year for my birthday. We did 4 nights on land, and 3 nights at sea. The other one is 4 nights on sea and 3 nights on land. For one child and one adult, with air travel included, it was just under 5k. Sorry I can't remember the exact price, but I do know it was just over 4k. The only complaint is that I felt the cruise was to short. We went from FL, to Nassau, to Castaway Cay, then back to FL. I just felt that we didn't get to fully enjoy the cruise. In Nassau we did this glass bottom boat tour. Was so not worth it. At Castaway Cay, we did the stingray feeding/snorkel thing. That was really cool. Also because of luggage restrictions, I felt I couldn't buy as much stuff as I wanted. Next year we are doing Alaska for a 7 night cruise. I don't think I would do the land/sea package again. I would much rather focus on one the whole time I am there. I highly recommend a cruise that is longer then 3 nights, so you could really enjoy the ship. I would also recommend going to the Disney site, and just go through the motions of booking a cruise. It will give you an idea of how much it will cost. I always do that before booking a vacation with them.

I went on a four night Disney Cruise back in 2000. It was totally awesome. I don't know how much it cost because I went with a dance team that was performing on their Island Castaway Cay. They have a great program for kids, and things for adults too. There were dance parties every night. They stopped at Nassau, Bahamas and Castaway Cay. I was not prepared for Nassau - it is a busy busy place right there where the boat lets you out - but I learned later that I should have signed up for an expedition on the boat before we docked, and seen the Island... I really missed out there. I got my hair braided, bought a purse, and got back on the boat. Castaway Cay was very nice. I snorkeled in their lagoon, and had opportunity to rent a bicycle and see the sites. Amazing. I have been to Disney World several times, and never had a good time there, honestly. It has been so busy every time that the day was spent just waiting in lines. not my idea of fun.
just one thing
Just go on the WDW web site for all info.

I have done it, but I don't book them as a package(land & sea package). It's better to nook separately since you can get more bang for your buck that way. I usually got to Disney World end of Aug, This is an off peak time, less crowds and disney offers the free dining promotion. I stay at least a week in disney and then I take the cruise after. Sept cruise prices go down significantly from Aug. Next year, I already booked my 9 nights at disney for 2 adults & a 2 yr old(free) for $1500. This includes hotel, tickets(hoppers) and free quick service dining. The free dining is worth it since most of your spending money goes on food. After that, we're doing the Cruise. The 3-day cruise for 3 was $1300. It's a deluxe ocean view w/ veranda cabin. It was worth it the first time. There's tons of activities for kids, families and adults only. They have a movie theater and a broadway style theater with shows every night. There's plenty of food available, including 24/7 room service. They have a free beverage station and ice cream on the pool deck. The staff was great and the ship is beautifully maintained inside and out. Not a speck of dirt or garbage. There's an outdoor movie screen by the pool playing movies, this was great at night for my son & I. On the 4 night, there was a pirates in the caribbean party with fireworks and a late buffet afterwards. They have a spa, services are a little pricey, free gym with free classes like yoga, etc...The restaurants were great so was the food. I used the nursery for my 2 yr old & she loved it. The staff was one of the sweetest I've met. Nassau was nice, if you book a scenic boat tour, that was fun. Buy water here, $1 bottle. Castaway Cay is one of the nicest islands I've seen. Water was pristine clear and everything was beautifully maintained. They have separate areas for adults and families. I especially liked relaxing on the hammocks. we didn't stay too long, kids.. Back on board, ship was practically empty, that was nice. We had the pool to ourselves, and was great to relax there also. Watching the sunrise and set was a one of a kind experience on any cruise. Disney is great, you just have to figure out what time works best for you. I don't like crowds and love hot weather, so that's why I love going in August. Hotels are also less expensive and more promotions are offered.
