Disney College Program?
-
I'm a junior in High school and I'm thinking about doing the Disney College Program if i decide to move to florida..I'm still in the process of looking up exactly what it is but i have some questions (and some may be stupid!): Do you have to go to college while in this program..or is this like a college? Is it a good program? Does it cost money? Also i want to major in Biology and Science and work at Disney in like the EPCOT living with the seas marine mammals when i finish, but while in the College Program can i work at Disney for something completely different (like as a character in one of the shows or one of the meet and greet characters) or do i have to work as something that has to do with my major? Thanks and please check out my other question (that has to do with this also!)

Answer:
Yes, you must be a full time college student to apply to the program. You are not going to get a job at the aquarium. Most college students work restaurants, stores, janitors, attendants for the rides. Yes you can audition to be a character. You get paid, could be as low as minimum wage. And your rent will be taken out of your pay. You will work hard and long hours.

Drip is right. As for does it cost money, you have to pay to get yourself out to Orlando and home again before and after your internship. They provide small apartments for you to live in while your there, people from all over the world do the internship, you don't have to live in Florida. You have to already be enrolled in college to apply, its not somethign you can do as a High Schooler. You can take some classes there in DisneyWorld, and those are free. You have to pay for books tho, but it won't cost much. Around 100 dollars usually. (Which if you think is a lot, trying paying off 1500 in tuition every semester) You might be able to get a job somewhere near the aquarium in Epcott, but like Drip said, college interns do the low jobs, and work long hard hours. You can have shifts from 7 pm till 3 am. After you do the internship you can go back to your normal college, and finish your degree. During your last semester in college you can apply for a Professional Internship, which can then lead to a career if that is what you wish.
