What are some good golf courses around Disney World?

What Disney World golf courses do you like the best?

  • Choosing from these four courses, what Disney World courses do you like best and why?: Osprey Ridge Palm Magnolia Lake Buena Vista

  • Answer:

There's also Oak Trail and Celebration, but the former is a 9-hole and the latter is not considered as part of the WDW Resort, but you probably already knew this. Disney courses are like everything else they showcase. Hotels, cruises, parks, merchandise, restaurants, movies, etc., all share the same core values established by Disney, but then they branch off by targeting specific demographics where "there's something for everyone". Given this, it's difficult to get a consensus on which course is the best. It's like asking which park is the best. Opinions will vary dramatically b/c it's not something that you can really quantify. I'll be honest w/you and tell you that I'm not a golfer. However, I've interacted w/hundreds of players who've done all the courses, dozens of whom have done them repeatedly. From all the feedback I've received, Osprey Ridge stands out. There's no other course on property that's as isolated/tranquil/scenic as Osprey Ridge. Additionally, it's a Fazio design and rated by Golf Digest as one of the best in the state (4.5-stars).

Those are all really nice courses. I just wanted to let you know, if your going to be in Orlando over thanksgiving there is a great tournament at the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club. Its a 9 hole or 18hole tournament. its up to you. There is more info on it here, http://orlando-florida-resorts.com/blog

My husband has golfed all of the courses, and I have gone along in the golf cart. He is an avid golfer, and has golfed all over the country. His favorite course is Magnolia, which is generally the feedback he hears from other golfers as well. This is mainly because it is the Championship course of the four, so it is challenging. It also boasts the famous "Hidden Mickey" sandtrap, and is the only course to have it. The scenery itself is beautiful, as the course is lined with Magnolia trees, and features a good amount of water in the form of golf hazards. The Buena Vista Golf Course he remarked felt less like Disney, and more like a private club course. It's very winding, and showcases less nature than the other courses. It's more scenic in the way of the Old Key West resort bordering it. Palm & Osprey have similar scenery to Magnolia, and my husband enjoyed both of them. It was the Disney touches on Magnolia, and the Championship level of it that makes it his number one choice.
