My dad's been a couple of times and did the same kind of thing. He says you just go and see what deals are going on when you get there. They don't always offer free passes, but sometimes they offer a 50% discount or something like a day pass at disney plus a day pass at universal for a good price. You just have to keep your eyes open at places like the hotel's brochure section, restaraunts, convenience stores, etc. It might be a better plan to go with the intention of visiting whatever attractions you can score good coupons for. The thing with the timeshare tickets is, like the previous person said, they DO try really hard to sell you a timeshare and then make you feel bad for not buying, because disney does not offer any discounts of any kind to anybody; anytime there is a discounted rate, the organization offering the discount pays full price for the ticket and then takes the discount at their own loss for the sake of whatever they're promoting. You might try googling "disney vacations on a budget" instead. I know there are websites out there devoted to this topic.

I don't think the hotels do it. Those are the places you see advertised on billboards and in those coupons books you can get at restaurants. You wouldn't do the timeshare at like a Holiday Inn or Howard Johnson's. I heard those things are horrible to sit through and then they make you feel bad about turning it down when you just wanted the tickets. I've also heard you waste a ton of time doing it too- who wants to waste the whole morning in an office when you could be having fun in the parks??! I'd rather just pay full price.

Don't do the timeshare thing. Buy the tickets and enjoy your day out. The timeshare will take up at least 4 hours of your well earned vacation and the pressure they put on you is unbelievable. You get free admission to Disney if it is your birthday so check that out first (if anyone does have a birthday).

Oasis Lakes at The Fountains. It's located on the south end of International Drive - Tel: 407 905 4100. Nice resort! They offer the choice of a ticket or cards to use in several restaurants to an equal value (Red Lobster, Bahama Breeze to name a couple!). Whichever way, both 'rewards' are worth having. Be prepared to spend some time saying 'no'. Although they're not quite as hard sell as they used to be, it IS how timeshares make their money, so they will try and press you to buy. Have fun!
