Transportation from walt disney world to universal parks?

  • Next summer me and my mum are going to walt disney world florida, last year when we went we stayed on international drive and could get transport to and from disney and all the universal parks, next year we will be staying at either the disney's all-star resort or disney's pop century resort, so we know that we can use the disney buses to get around the disney parks, but does anyone know if there is transportation from the disney parks to and from universal parks? (we won't be hiring a car) any help will be very much appriciated :)

There are many tourist(including international visitors) who use public transportation who go in either direction. You can catch lynx #50 from disney ticket & transportation center to Sea World. Trip takes about 20 minutes. This bus runs twice an hour. Drops you off in front of Sea World. If you want to go to Universal get off at a Sea World stop. Request a transfer and use it to board #8 and get off at Wet N Wild. Trip also takes about 20 minutes. This bus runs 4 or 5 times an hour. Get off at Wet N Wild and walk to corner(Universal Blvd). There is a sidewalk and is a 10 minute walk. The walk will help you stretch your legs. You'll be walking all day at park! It'll take you about an hour overall. Bus $1.75 per person each way Taxi roughly $80 round trip. The bus drivers and other passengers are very friendly. Bus schedules located behind driver. I am not 100% positive about this because it has been a while, but I believe there are buses that come to the resorts that are not Disney buses (regular public city buses). You should be able to take the bus from the resort to other parts of the Orlando area, thus you should be able to get yourself to Universal. If not, I know for a fact that the public buses come to Downtown Disney and the Ticket and Transportation Center at Magic Kingdom. If all else fails, you should be able to take a Disney bus to one of those locations and then the public bus to Universal. (I am POSITIVE that you can take a public bus directly to Universal's door!) The area's public bus system is called Lynx. You should be able to look at bus routes on their website. http://www.golynx.com/

First of all, if you're wanting to stay in a value resort for sure I highly recommend Pop Century over the All Stars. My husband and I stayed in the All Stars Sports and Pop Century and Pop Century blows the All Stars out of the water. It's newer, nicer, the rooms are the same exact size, the pools are a LOT nicer. The All Stars all have to share THE SAME BUS. Say you want to go to Animal Kingdom, the bus would stop at Sports first, then the other two resorts. It's really frustrating. Pop Century has their own buses that come back and forth and we rarely had a problem getting on a bus in a timely manner. Anyways, One of the downfalls my husband and I have always hated was that we had to rent a car to go to Universal Studios. Granted we did NOT research the issue in great detail but we had scheduled so much out for Disney that we probably wouldn't have had time. The pros of not renting a car and getting shuttled everywhere outweighed the fact that we didn't get to go to Universal Studios. And we HAVE rented a car before but this was our first trip and we didn't want to be overly confused by everything. It is totally not worth renting a car for the whole trip. The Disney transportation system was such a wonderful idea.

if u stay at a hotel, other than a disney or universal ones, there are often free shuttles from those hotels that will take you to both locations

well, you can get a bus to 'Downtown Disney' area and you can catch a taxi or a cab. And have it take you to universal studio's. that's the best i can do Good-Luck

kaitlyn, ftw. (:

the only is renting a car, but you can rent the car only that day. is a good idea.
