Are there crowds at Orlando Theme Parks in December?

  • Hi,i am visiting the following parks: 17 december-Magic Kingdom 18 december-Epcot 19 december-MGM Studios 20 december-Islands Of Adventure(Buying Express pass.Should I buy for USF) 21 december-Sea World or Universal Studios Florida or Busch Gardens Q&A What will be the crowds like and wait times for rides/shows like? My hotel is Marriot Springhill,Vineland Avenue.Does it provide transport to Universal,Sea World,Busch Gardens? Will i be able to avoid large crowds? Which park is better?Sea World,Busch Gardens Or Universal Studios Florida How far is my hotel from Busch Gardens?

    Hello =-) As far as the Express Pass goes, you can buy a one day pass that is good at both parks, or you can buy 2 separate passes for each day that you'll be an Universal. Being that it's going to be a very busy time there, I would buy the express pass for both days if you can. The crowds will be higher with each day of your trip. By the last 2 days it's possible that the parks may max out with crowd capacity. So be sure to get to the park early so you can ensure that you get in. I would imagine wait times for major attractions would be 2-3 hours and less popular rides would be anytime around 30-60 minutes. Fastpasses & Express passes will be your best friends. The newer the attraction, the longer the wait will be. You won't be able to avoid large crowds, especially if the parks are maxed out. Your best bet is to arrive early, and try to get as much done as you can before the crowds get bad. Of those 3 parks, I definitely prefer Sea World. Your ticket to Islands of Adventure will also get you into Universal Studios the same day. I'd just walk over there and do the main attractions, and not spend an entire other day there. Sea World is awesome - Busch Gardens is not that great in comparison to either other park, in my opinion. Besides that, Busch Gardens is about 1.5-2 hours away. Your hotel does not offer a shuttle to any of the parks. You will have to either drive if you have a car, or get a cab.

about 75 miles from your hotel to Busch Gardens, Tampa, FL via I-4 west. Crowds will be large the lite days are normally Tuesday Wed. and Thursday...lite does not mean not crowded. Its December...a busy month. Might be too cold for Islands of adventure. Ride lines are often 1/2 hour or longer, specifically roller coasters. As for hotel providing transport you will have to contact the hotel as only they know if they do this all year some only do it in summer. I searched all Marriott hotels and find none on Vineland Ave...there is a Fairfield on Vineland Ave. BUT NONE offer transportation except to airport...so calling would be your best bet. It depends what you really like and the ages of your children or others attending: Sea World is great if you love sea animals, Busch gardens had great roller coasters, Universal I have hear is very good if you are into themed rides. All have exciting rides and high priced food...beautiful Christmas Decorations. Welcome to FL bring jackets...currently its 40's at night and 50-70 in the day with lite winds.
