Answer:
Wishes! is my all time favorite show at WDW! If you can spare the money I would definitely suggest doing the Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party! Pretty much you get a reserved spot (the best spot in the whole park, in my personal opinion) and walk right up a little bit before the show starts and you get desserts! This is great because if you were to stake out the best spot right in front of Cinderella Castle you would be waiting for hours, but you get a reserved seat (yes, a seat on the ground!) and dessert! It's a little bit of the pricey side, but hey, what isn't it's WDW and your on vacation so it's okay to splurge once in a while! Big Thunder Mountain is my favorite memory of watching them. The ride usually has nobody on it (as with most rides during the fireworks) so you can go on it twice in a row with little to no wait during the fireworks. Its amazing. The ride is lit up with the colors of the fireworks and the big BOOM of each one is enough to make you want to scream because you are literally right under the fireworks. If it is your first time seeing the fireworks, I wouldn't recommend it because you do miss out on some of the show while boarding the train for Big Thunder. If it is your first time, anywhere around main street is fine. I would recommend getting as close to the gate as possible to you can beat the crowds out. Another good spot to watch them if you are outside of the magic kingdom is Narcoossee's restaurant at the Grand Floridian. Its right on a pier that is located on the lake in front of the magic kingdom. You can actually see the castle perfectly and you don't even have to eat at the restaurant, just sit outside. They also play the Wishes music outside which adds to the effect. You can get to the location by taking one of the little tugboats from the magic kingdom to the Grand Floridian, its right there when you get off. :D

If you do not want to deal with crowds, I like watching the fireworks from the main pool at the Polynesian(or even at the dock at the Grand Floridian). You can sit on the bank of the lake and have a nice view of the castle with the fireworks above. You won't be able to hear the soundtrack that goes along with the fireworks, but Hawaiian music makes up for it a little!

One night we ate at the California Grille (restaurant on top of the Contemporary resort) and we went out on their balcony and watched the fireworks after our meal. There were speakers that played the music coordinated with the show and everything. The view was terrific. Look at Magic Kingdom's schedule and make reservations at California Grille on a night that fireworks will take place.

Everyone crowds around for the fireworks. It is not that bad. I hate crowds but enjoy the fireworks. If you get directly in front of the castle, on the left-hand side, you'll be able to see the "heart shaped" fireworks. Just find a place where you can lean, get there a bit early (not too early) and enjoy. There is really no place that is not crowded. The Rose Garden is just below the walkway into the "Noodle Station - closed". So the walkway would be towards Cosmic Ray's.
The roofless patio of the plaza pavilion located in Tomarrowland on the border with Mainstreet, USA is a great spot i read about it in a travel book, and tried it out and it was awesome! Have fun!
