What are the best resorts in Mallorca?

Can we use Disney Transportation from the Disney resorts?

  • We are not staying at Disney resorts, but would really like to use its transportation - resorts shuttles to Disney parks. Can we drive our car, park it at any resorts and take the resorts' shuttles to the parks? Do they check keys when you enter Disney resorts? I know it is not nice but with 2 small children it would be so convenient :)

  • Answer:

Parking at Disney is $14. Parking at the hotels is not a good idea. You do not want to come back form the parks and see that your car has been towed. Parking at downtown Disney is okay but you will have to add at least 30+ mins travel time and finding a bus to a hotel then finding another bus to the parks which will be a pain.

Yes, they check your ID or Room Key at the gate when you drive in. You would need a parking permit to park at any of the resorts. Im sorry but if you cant afford to pay for the parking. Then you cant afford to go to Disneyworld. Stay home and save up the 12 dollars it cost to park in the lot. Besides with two small children it would be easier to park in the lot and walk to the park. that way when the kids are tired its a quick hop to the car and not a long drive to the resort and then the car.

How in the world would adding additional travel time to each park make it more convenient with 2 children? You can not park at a resort unless you are a guest at that resort. Day guests (touring the resort, eating at a restaurant etc) are given a 3 hr parking pass. ETA: When you stayed onsite you would have been given a pass for your car to keep in the window. You wouldn't show your key each time you entered the parking lot as the pass would be visible. However with many of the resorts you can enter by scanning your key by going through a line separate from the one adjacent to the security hut. ETA: We stayed at the Contemporary one yr. At that time they were not handing out the 3hr passes to those claiming to be there visiting the resort. It made finding a parking spot almsot impossible. At one point we had to park at the far wouth end of the resort when we were staying in the north wing. Since the NW parking lot was closest to MK, that is where many "resort visitors" would park. Amazing how they seemed to visit the Contemporary during the same hrs that MK was opened. Seriously the NW parking lot would be empty 30 min after MK closed.

I always stay at a Disney resort, but I still drive my own vehicle to the parks. That way, I get there when I want to, rather than sitting or standing around, waiting for a bus. And at the end of the day, it is so nice to get in my nice, quiet car and go back to the resort, rather than cram in a bus with a lot of stinky, cranky people and their screaming, overtired children (and possibly not get a seat). Believe me...it's worth the $14 you have to pay. Have a nice trip.

There are a lot of perks to staying at a Disney resort. I don't think you are going to be allowed to park at a Disney resort when you are not a guest there. All resorts have gates and you will be checked. Too many people would do this and there would not be any parking left for resort guests. You can take a Disney bus without being checked for a Disney resort ID. Taking a tram, then a ferry or monorail, you are not in the MK parking lot, You are at the Ticket and Transportation Center.

I think parking recently went up to $14, but I'm not totally sure... Standing in line for a bus and then standing on the bus (possibly while trying to hold a small child) would NOT be more convenient. WDW is good with their trams, and I don't think you'll wait any less for a bus than you will for a tram (maybe more!). If you want to skirt the parking fees, you can park at Downtown Disney, but--again--NOT more convenient to add an extra leg or two to your journey (and not worth the money, either, in my opinion).

Ask at your hotel is the Meurs Shuttle stops there. They have service all over the greater Orlando area to the parks. Many of them are free, other then a tip for the driver. It takes longer to get there but you won't have to drive.
