What's the best park in Disney World for a family?

Going to Disney World in March, can I just walk from park to park and whats the weather like?

  • Ok this is my first trip to Disneyworld. Im from California and only been to Disneyland so this is really exciting although Ive never flown and Im afraid of the plane ride coming up. So at Disneyland I can walk from park to park. Can I do the same at Disneyworld like walk from the Disneyland there to the animal one? Also whats the weather going to be like from March 24-28 usually? Any people from Florida out there?

  • Answer:

Sweetie you will love Disney World and their transportation is out of this world. If you stay on the Disney property all you have to do is go outside your resort and catch the buses. They run all day and way into the night. We park hop all day. We will ride a boat, monorail, or bus all over. I've been four times in March and the weather is usually warm in the day and cool at night. To me it's much prettier then than at Christmas. I hope you have a supercalifragilisticexpialodocious time!!!!

No, you can't walk from park to park. Disney World is HUGE. I was surprised the first time there because I had only been to Disneyland as well. You can take the monorail to Epcot from Magic Kingdom and will have to take the buses to the other parks. The weather that time will be very nice. Not too hot and humid at all. Have fun! We're going the 5th - 10th.

No you will not be able to walk from park to park. There are shuttles at each park that take you to the park you desire to go to. However, it can take approx. 20-30 minutes for the shuttle to arrive. On top of that, it could take about 10 minutes to ride to each park depending on which one you're going to. This is why it is good to be at Disneyworld for numerous days. The place is really spread out. And if you are not careful, you can spend alot of your vacation standing around waiting on transportation.

Hello, Congratulations on booking your upcoming trip! Disney World is the best place to vacation—you made a great choice! I will be there in March as well for my honeymoon. You can’t walk from park to park, BUT Disney does provide transportation for you complimentary when you visit. Are you staying in a Disney Resort Hotel? (hopefully so!) If so, you won’t even need to rent a car. The Magical Express will pick you up from the airport and take you directly to your resort. You can check in and then head off to the parks with Disney transportation! None of these features cost any additional fees. If you enjoy walking, depending on where you stay you’ll be within walking distance from your resort to a park. For example, if you stay at the Boardwalk Resort, you’ll be able to take a 10 minute stroll to Epcot which is great and really convenient since you enter through World Showcase which is the back of the park. You avoid a lot of the hustle and bustle of the main entrance. Or you could choose to stay in one of the three monorail hotels which are the Contemporary Resort, the Polynesian Resort or the Grand Floridian. You can walk to the Magic Kingdom from any of these. Either way—your covered as far as getting around. If you’re not staying in the parks, you are still able to utilize the Disney transportation. Since you’d have to rent a car this way, I would suggest parking in the Ticket and Transportation Center near the Contemporary Resort. Here, you can hop on the monorail and head to Magic Kingdom and Epcot, or catch a bus from one of those two parks to Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios. If you haven’t already, make sure you purchase the Park Hopper tickets before you leave. This will allow you to visit multiple parks in one day. The weather in March is always questionable. It’s really a luck of the draw…some days it’s warm enough for shorts, others are better to wear jeans. Try to check the 10-day forecast before you leave and pack enough clothes to cover any type of weather while you’re there. (if its chilly, and you didn’t pack a sweatshirt or long sleeve shirt—they get pretty pricey in the parks. It’s best to take one from home!) I hope you enjoyed your visits to Disney Land. Disney World, while it may seem similar in some aspects will be an entirely new experience for you. Once you pass thru the entrance, you will literally be in a completely different world. You’ll never want to leave!! Once more thing: Don’t stress about the flight! I’m from Kentucky and I flew to California once. I thought the flight was going to last forever but since you’ll be in the air for such a long distance, you’ll have a cool plane with televisions on the back of the seats or something along those lines. The only part that it a little nerve racking if you haven’t flown before is take off. Just close your eyes and lean your head back, you’ll do fine!!

As far as the parks go, they are pretty far apart and separated by busy roads. You can't walk from park to park. Take advantage of the shuttle system if you can. As far as the weather goes, late March is normally a great time to visit. It shouldn't be too hot yet, and nights should still be cool, but not cold (however, we have had crazy weather this year, so you never know). Also late March is normally not very rainy. It'll still be humid though. It's always humid here.

No you cannot walk they are too far away. There are busses available for free if you're staying on site if not you will have to rent a car or hire a taxi. You should be fine on the plane. Millions of people fly all the time don't worry! Chew gum to help with the pressure! Also if you are prone to motion sickness take dramamine or something like it before. The weather depends. It will not be really hot though! I went once in March and wore a coat, but I've heard others say it gets up to 75ish. I would pack for both and bring layers so you can shed them of you get hot.

Not only are the park miles from each other there is no safe place along the streets to walk it.
