Best time to visit Florida?

  • We are trying to plan a 2 week vacation for 2009 and can't figure out when the best time to visit would be. We will be driving from Wisconsin through Kentucky and Tennessee visiting the Smoky Mountains and then driving through South Carolina to Daytona Beach. We also want to visit the Kennedy Space Center and Disney World. We will be with our 3 kids; 6,4,2. When will be the be the best time to visit. We want to go between June and October as we want to be able to visit the mountains before winter comes. When are the best times (June-October) to get the best hotel rates, less crowds, but still warmer weather. Any ideas?

    Definitely more towards October. The weather is the best and there's significantly less crowds at the theme parks.

the Smoky Mountains are beautiful you should also visit Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN. i would say the best time to visit Disneyworld is late September - early October.

I would say september or october. In the summer the crowds will be way too long and it will be very hot to stand in the heat waiting for the rides! I'm going in April!

June-Aug tends to be crowed due to schools being on vacation. September-October tends to be less crowed. Just be sure to plan your itinerary. Disney World is huge and it could be overwhelming.
