How busy is Universal Studios in August?

How to get from Hotel near Disney to Universal Studios (No car)?

  • The hotel were staying at is very close to Disney World, we are staying for 6 nights and out of those days, 5 will be spent at Disney and 1 day at Universal Studios, our hotel has shuttle buses to Disney but not to Universal Studios. We are not renting a car, since our hotel is so close to Disney we didn't see the need, but how are we going to get to Universal Studios? Is there a bus or something. By the way we are travelling without a lot of people. We are staying at Radisson Hotel Orlando-Lake Buena Vista and this is the address 12799 Apopka Vineland Rd, (also known as SR 535), Orlando, FL 32836

  • Answer:

Simple way is a taxi. You can go to the front desk and have them call one for you. All you have to do is tell them you want to go to Universal and tell them how many is in your party. It is a common thing and the hotels in the area have common communication between the taxi services in the area. When you get out of the taxi just ask them for a business card so you can call them when you are ready to go back to the hotel. If you forget you can go to guest services at Universal and they will call one for you. Many of the taxi services down there us vans so it can be easy for a large group of people.

I would call your hotel and see what they recommend. Orlando is such a family/group oriented town that your hotel probably has a few options for you. Otherwise as Chesire said, just take a cab. You can have the hotel call and see if they have large shuttles that might be able to take you. You're staying about 10 minutes from Universal, so it may not be that expensive.

You are more than likely able to pick up a shuttle from Disney to Universal Studios and back again because they run shuttles in between all those attractions to get you back in the original one in hopes of you spending More money there. And, even if you had to take a taxi take it from the shortest point to point, like from Disney to Universal rather than from your hotel to Universal. These resorts know the problems tourist have and are always willing to accommodate them. There is probably a travel coordinator at your hotel that can recommend an idea or two to you and your family. Have a great vacation. :~D

I would definitely call Mears shuttles. They have bigger capacity so they can accommodate you. Plus, they are always cheaper than just calling a cab. And you can set up ahead of time your pickup times. I have used them and they have been great. They are online, so you can see info there, too. And they also come from and to the airport, if you have not figured out how to get to your hotel yet.

I agree with going to the Mears web site and seeing what they can offer. Honestly I think this is going to cost you more than it is worth it. to get a one day ticket to Universal and transportation there and back. for 6 days there is more than enough to keep you busy at WDW. I have stayed off WDW property twice, at two different hotels. both times the shuttle service to WDW was horrid. I only stay at a WDW resort now. SO much nicer and less hassles

Take the city bus (Lynx). On their website you can get a route.
