Planning a trip to Disney World, Do it myself or Use a Travel Agent?

  • Which would be easiest and how much do you end up paying for a travel agent if you use one?? Direction would be helpful, first trip to plan. THANKS!!

    You can do it yourself, either by calling Disney at the number mentioned above, or online at http://www.disneyworld.com. No travel agent is necessary. Before booking, find out everything you could possibly want to know about Disney World and all your lodging, dining and recreation options at http://www.allearsnet.com. I've used both websites extensively to plan my six trips to Disney World, and will use them again! Another great resource is the book "Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" which is updated annually. Have a wonderful trip!

call 407-WDISNEY and let Disney plan your vacation for you. I would not pay a travel agent...most of them are not knowledgeable about everything at Disney.

I did it online at the disney web site, but before I booked I called up disney and talk to someone who went over everything with me. I did check out a disney authorized travel agent and she couldn't do anything for me I couldn't of done my self- including prices. I did however do research.I checked out several Disney books at the library- went over everything on the disney web site and really thought about what would be best for my family. below site is helpful. it has all disney menus and prices

I go to Disney World every year. I book it right through Disney! Just go to DisneyWorld.com or call the number on the website. They are so nice and will help you with anything! I always get the Disney plans. That includes park passes, free transportation to and from the airport, free transportation to a from all the parks and my hotel, all the food, and hotel room. It's so cheap. Do it right through Disney, I'm urging you. You'll just pay more through a travel agent. I'm planning my next trip right now for September!

1. There is absolutely no need to use a travel agent for a Disney Vacation 2. I would recommend you call their agent instead of booking online. We just recently booked a 6 day/5 night vacation for September. They have a free dining special promotion which I missed when looking to book it online. For some reason I decided to call, and I am glad I did. The agent pointed out the special and we saved $550 bucks. It is not that the special isn't listed on the website, but I missed it, and others may have too.

Do it yourself with some research first. I read the unofficial guide to disney, an awesome book, then made all my own reservations. Got an upgrade from mod resort to Yacht Club and then upon arrival upgraded to concierage room based on tips from book. Got much better deal than travel agent had planned for us!

I definitely wouldn't waste my money on a travel agent! Disney can plan your trip for free (407-WDW-MAGIC) :) Here are some links on eating for free, avoiding lines, and other things that Disney officials won't tell you.
