  • Hello, I'm going to Florida next week with my family. Driving from New York to Florida. Does anyone have recommendations what to see in Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia? Thank You.

It's cliche, but do Disney and Universal! They're great theme parks, and if you like thrill seeking rides you'll get a load, and if you want a magical but cool (with awesome and thrill seeking rides thrown in there) Disney and Universal are the way to go. I don't know much outside of Florida, sorry!

Why don't you try the Amtrak Autotrain. Leaves Washington DC area around 4pm and gets you too Sanford Orlando area about 9 the next morning Thousands use this great service, No expensive gas. No nights in sleazy motels - Free dinner. We find it great The only way to go and the only one in the USA. Car goes right on the train along with you. Can get a nice little room or just spend the night relaxed in an arm chair

If you like cheesy things, go to South of the Border in South Carolina. Its a mockery of Mexico, with little shops and such. Warning, it is a bit cheesy and crappy, but I enjoyed it. (You will see signs for it all over Interstate 95 about two hours before you actually see it. It will get ridiculous.) We stopped in Savannah Georgia. It is a very historic town, filled with nice shops and great food! It is a gorgeous town! In Florida, you could get off one of the exits and go into Jacksonville, tour the Jaguars stadium (they have tours in the offseason, if you and/or your family are into the NFL, definitely stop! We did it in Denver and it was amazing!) If you aren't already, do Disney World or Universal Studios. Even Seaworld.

I drive 95 twice a year from Boston to Naples. We usually do the bataan death march and try to do it in less than 24 hrs. The few times we stop is to eat. there is a bbq place in wilson, nc called Parkers that is pretty darn good. Family of four for less than $40. bbq purists might have dif opinion but for us new englanders its excellent

Gatorland. They have a "Gator jumperoo" show where they tie whole chickens on a pole and monster sized alligators come up out of the water and grab it. The gift shop burned down, the building that looks like you are walking into a giant alligator's mouth, but have since rebuilt it.

thr Hare Krishna farm in Alachua, Florida. it's beautiful and u will learn a lot. :)
