Disney considers a GED to be the same as a High School Diploma. There is a hiring freeze right now, but you can still interview and get on the waiting list for when they start hiring again. And I think they are still hiring people every now and then, there was a class going through the tunnels Thursday and they looked like an older age distribution than is normal for college interns. Although they could be transfers from another park or a resort; transfers still have to take the park orientation class. Anyhow, get on the waiting list as soon as possible. They are more picky right now than normal, so make sure you really shine in the interview! Attractions is actually on of the higher starting positions. You can sometimes go right into table service restaurants, but it is common to start out in quick service restaurants (QSR, Disney for fast food) and work your way up. Before the hiring freeze QSR was always hiring so they will probably be one of the first departments to start hiring again. Housekeeping is another department that will probably start hiring early. You can put yourself on the waiting list for either two or three departments. Make an appointment at Casting before you go, they have a special (shorter) line for people that made appointments ahead of time. Their number is 407-828-1000. My advice is to pick an 8:00 interview, this will give you more time with the interviewer as Casting gets really packed later in the day. Be yourself and be completely honest (Disney does check applications for accuracy and the REALLY don't like it when they find out you lied.) The Casting people are pretty down to Earth. Except for the pay, Disney World is one of the best jobs in the world if you like people, if you don't like people it is probably one of the worst. The hourly jobs are union and actually have better benefits than the administration jobs (for example, if you worked in a fast food restaurant you would have a 401K and a pension, if you were a manager you only have a 401K.) The benefits are really good, you can download the union contract for full-timers at http://www.uniteherelocal362.org/2007%20STCU%20Main%20Contract%20Addendums%20A%20B%20%20STCU%20200%207.22.07.pdf , the contract for part-timers is at http://www.uniteherelocal362.org/12%2020%2007%20Final%20CR%20Contract%20All%20w_o%20Numbers%20Cover%20Pg.pdf . That is at the Unite Here website, but all six of the service trade unions (which you would almost certainly be covered under starting out) use that contract, and it has the pay rates for all of the jobs in all of the unions. It also tells about holidays, vacation, medical, absenteeism, etc. Minors have special work rules, so you might want to wait until you actually turn 18. There are a lot of programs at Disney for people (even without college degrees) to work into higher positions, and almost everyone including the managers started out in an entry-level hourly job (Disney almost completely promotes from within). There is a program to help hourly workers who want to become part of management, there is another that lets you transfer to the technical unions like plumbers and electricians as an apprentice (which can be as lucrative or more than management!) That program pays you a good wage during four years of training and then a very good wage when you are done, although I understand it is very tough. There are also tons and tons of self-improvement classes like interviewing, computers, and business that you can take for free at Disney University. Good luck

You most likely wont get to put guests on rides. Believe it or not, that is one of the harder jobs to get here. Go to casting, if you live close enough, because that's where everyone has to go to get a job. And you have absolutely no idea how strict this place is. You better be ready for it before you get yourself into something you can't handle. Remember, Disney is one of the largest corporations in the world, and breaking contract or getting terminated is one of the worst things that you could do.

Go to their website and apply. I can tell you though, Disney isn't really hiring for much right now; they're waiting to see how the holidays start off before hiring on a ton of people. http://corporate.disney.go.com/careers/index.html

It is fairly easy. As long as you have you GED you will be fine. You should look at the Disney corporate site and see.

It should be fairly simple to get a job there. I also want to work there, but in a different area. Just apply there like you would at any other job. If they ask you for an interview, make sure you go decently dressed and with a "Disney Attitude". They want people who can make guests feel as if they are at the Happiest Place On Earth. Just remember to smile a lot and be very polite and remember that if you do get a job there, it can be VERY frustrating. You just need to remember that even if some family could be ruining your day for you, you could ruin another family's day for them by not keeping up that bright and cheery disposition. :) Best of luck.
