How is transportation to parks from the Hilton in Disney world?

I am looking into the hilton in disney world and wondered how long and what type of transportation is provided to each of the parks. We have 4 kids ages 2-6, and don't want to spend too much time on riding back and forth to the hotel if we need breaks during the day. Also, is it cheaper to buy tickets to disney world ahead of time or at the gate? How much should I plan on spending on meals per day? Any disney tips would be greatly appreciated! We are planning on staying at the hotel for 2 nights, and using 2 day tickets with park hopper options, and will probably spend most of our time at magic kingdom and hollywood studios. and mostly interested in the shows- do we have enough time? Thanks.

its very close to downtown disney, its about a block..very short. you can then go there and take a bus to any of the parks and then from the parks go to the resorts and then if you go to magic kingdom or epcot you can take the monorail to some places. its not that big of an inconvience but staying on disney sure is the way to go with the extra magic hours and the great service. my vacation there wouldnt feel right without staying at one of their hotels, its really worth it! hope that helped! also, buy tickets in advance through AAA cause they are cheaper and you really could just watch shows for a week cause you will get so sidetracked with everything. once you have gone to disney everything else sucks basically, haha you should stay longer. its really worth it.
