How do I get a CA work permit?

How can i get a work permit for the USA?

  • I plan to spend the most part of my gap year in the USA, either California or Florida how can i go about getting a work permit so that while i'm there i can get a job? I'm 18 and only plan to spend about 8/9months there... can i get an international work permit or something? I read somewhere you have to get a job and them get the permit but i was hoping to find a job while i'm out there, any tips would be great :)

    All the programs I have seen are for students to come during their college summer or for a semester. You have a good command of the English language and that is a plus I know Sea World used to hire and give Visas. The economy is not that great now so the only thing you can probably find is harvesting food.

You cannot. Work visas are granted to highly educated and skilled people who have first found an employer to sponsor their visa. There is no such thing as a work permit for low skill, casual jobs. There is one possibility. See site below for a company that sponsors young people to work in the U.S....they take care of the visa issue.
