Disney Studios or Universal Orlando?

Walt Disney World or Universal Studios Orlando?

  • My family of four will be going on a trip to Florida this summer and we have heard different things about Disney World and Universal Studios. We are trying to decide whether to spend more time at Disney or Universal. We are told Universal is much better than Disney, but I'm not sure! I mean, I know both are good and I can't wait for both, but which would you choose to spend more time with? Pros and cons?

    well it depends on the ages of your children. younger children should go to disney. just because there are so many attractions (rides and performances) that are just amazing and kids LOVE them. but if they are a bit older, i'd suggest either one. walt disney has more daring rides too. universal is really awesome too, but honestly disney is really the better choice. disney is great for all ages. universal is usually better suited for people at least 10-12 and up. the city walk part of universal is pretty much only for people like, 17 and older. also, you can do universal in a day or so. disney world has four parks and it will take longer to do them, but you'll have about 4 times as much fun. but both parks are pretty awesome.

well disney is going to take more time just do to the fact that it has 4 theme parks (magic kingdom, epcot, hollywood studios, animal kingdom) as compared to universal's 2 theme parks (universal studios, islands of adventure) and disney world has 2 water parks (typhoon lagoon, blizzard beach) as compared to universal's 1 water park (wet n wild) if you take 1 day for each disney world park that would be 4 days. then if you were to go to both water parks that would be another 2 days. so disney would take up 6 days. if you take 1 day for each of universal's theme parks that would be 2 days and if you went to the water park that would take up 1 day. so universal would take up 3 days. i've been to both and i find there is waaaaaaaay more to do at disney world then there is at universal so i would spend more time at disney world.

Disney World!!!!! I've been to both places so I know first hand which one suits me better. Disney is a much better place for families. It is much larger, more special, and entertaining. You will never run out of things to do or places to go. Theres so much magic and excitment you will be stunned, trust me! Universal is smaller...and more for crazy teens who like rollercoasters and more advanced carnival rides...not a good vacationing place for families or children. Trust me on this, Disney is exhilerating and breath taking!!! You will love it, as will your family!

Disney is the whole experience! Universal has great thrill rides! Disney is offering the dining plan for free from Aug 16-Oct3 if your looking to book during that time it will save you around $800 for a family of four.

Definitely spend more time at Disney World. Universal Studios and Island of Adventures is not very big at all.

Well, if there are kids in the group, go to Disney World. Of course, id pick Disney over universal no matter what.
