-
Hello! This summer around July 15th, my family is going to DISNEY WORLD, FL!! :) We've visited 10 times but never in the summer time. We've heard that its VERY HOT and crowded!! Is there any tips you have?? Can you also describe the weather and crowds around mid July?? Here are some more straight forward questions: 1. What do we wear? Does it get cold at night? 2. How do we keep cool and not misrable?? 3. Any good tips to BEAT THE CROWD? Are weekdays less crowded than weekends to go to the parks? Have any tips on how to use fast passes?? 4. We have a 7 and 9 year old thats going with us thats iffy about the major rides like Mt everest, tower of terror etc. What are rides you recommend for them? 5. ANYTHING ELSE WE SHOULD KNOW?? Sorry for all the questions but we want to make the best out of our summer vaca!! THANKS:D

Hi,well your going as soon as Im leaving. I went in August and it was hot and crowded. 1. Last year I wore capris and shorts sleeves and I was very hot. This year, we are just going to wear very light clothes like camis and basket ball shorts or boy shorts because its so hots. Make sure you wear shoes that are comfortable because if you going to be doing a lot of walking. I wore some flip flops my first day there and my feet were so sore and I was only at the park for 6 hours they werer red and hurt so much. 2. Keep cool, I really liked the frozen lemonades and smoothies. I also go to the water parks or go for a swim at your resort pool. 3. Beat the crowd, I dont think so because your going in July and everyone is going to be there. But the fastpasses will help. I got fast pass for test track telling me to come back about 7 hours later and I did the wait was about 10 minutes while everyone else was 90 minutes. Extra Magic Hours can help. Like when Magic Kingdom stays open from 11-2am. 4. Theres this ride at Magic Kingdom called the Barnstormer at Goofy's Wiseacre farm. I saw a lot of little kids getting off the ride talking about how awesome it was. My sister and I are teenagers and we went on it and it was ok. Not scary because we are old but enough thrill for little kids. I cant tell you all of them, but you can go on the disney website and make a customized map that is perfect to you and you can see each ride. 5. IDK, well get the meal plan,

Nope still hot at night, but it is a relief not to have the sun on you keep hydrated and wear a hat it is always crowded. stay at a WDW resort and do Magic Hours. my 9 yr old could do those rides, but many find them too much. height may be a factor too. check out site below for good tips

Well ,,,we went last june.. it was miserable at times.. i wont lie! waiting in line for the BUS was the worst.. then just walking around in the 100+ heat was hard. BUT overall its Disney and truly a magical place. Just try to get out early! and come back to hotel in afternoon to cool off. We did a lot of stuff at night when it was bearable! NO definitely DOES not get cold.. ever this year we picked October to go.. couldn't take the heat.. never again lol have fun!!!
ALL EARS!!!
I was 6 the first time I went. I remember having so much fun. There was of course some rides that I didn't want to go on but there was so much else to do that it didn't matter that we skipped them.

1. I would suggest wearing shorts and tank tops and SNEAKERS. It does not get that cold at night i would bring a light jacket just in case. 2.Drink lot and lots and lots of water bring water bottles and they have water fountains around the park to refill your water bottles and stay hydrated. 3.I dont think there are anyways to beat the crowd and i think weekdays wil be less crowed but still more crowded than the last time youve went. 4.I would suggest ride like splash mountain and space mountain and mabey mabey aerosmith ride 5.I would suggest buying the unofficial guide to walt disney world 2010 (when we went to disney in 2005 we bought the book and it helped us so much) Hope you have a great time YOUR WELCOME

1 - Shorts, light shirts, good walking shoes. A backpack is a good idea. It should not be cold unless you get rained on. 2 - Just take it easy, drink lots of fluids and get on the rides that get you wet (splash mountain and Kali River Rapids are good ones.) 3 - Fast Passes are great and can really help save time. They do require extra walking because you have to go to the ride to get the fast pass and then you have to go back later when your fast pass time is. TIP 1 - Not everyone has to go to get the passes. One person can take everyones ticket and get passes for the entire group. TIP 2 - The fast pass will tell you to come back during a 1 hour period (for example from 2 to 3) but they don't expire. If you are on the other side of the park during your time and its not convenient to get to the ride, dont worry, you can use them anytime after the start time. TIP 3 - The fast pass will tell you when you can get another one. Its never more than 2 hours and sometimes only 30 minutes. As soon as you are eligible to get another one, do it. You don't have to use the 1st one before you get a 2nd one. I sometimes have 4 or 5 fast passes in my pocket at the same time. TIP 4 - Fast passes for Toy Story Mania and Soarin will run out early, possibly by lunch time, so get these early TIP 5 - All of the parks have some type of message board that tells you how long the wait is for the most popular rides. Try to get the fast passes for the rides with the longest waits. 4 - 7 to 9 year olds and mom and dad will love Toy Story Mania, Soarin, PhilharMagic and too many others to list. 5 - http://allears.net has lots of great information including which days are best to go to which parks. Have a blast!
We are returning to Florida at the end of July also... The weather in July is very warm.. around 86 degrees. And it does not get cold at all at night! There are portable fans sold at the parks and some spray water so this might be an idea to keep cool. If you are worried about the children getting too warm then I would suggest maybe not being in the parks at midday and maybe heading back to your hotel or for lunch somewhere in the parks or to a show at this time. Storms are common in the afternoon in summer and don't last very long but they do cool you down a little. Good tips to beat the crowds are to get there early, at opening if not slightly before. If you are staying in a disney resort hotel you will also get into parks an hour earlier on certain days, but if you are not at a disney hotel then I would avoid going to a park on its extra magic hour day as it tends to be more busy.. so for example, if it is Epcot EMH then head to Magic Kingdom or somewhere else. (Websites such as the disney website and 'allears' can help you with this). Fastpasses are really useful so I would suggest fastpassing the big rides early in the morning. You can only have one at once so though planning is always good! There are plenty of rides for children, such as dumbo and aladdin in Magic Kingdom and soarin' in Epcot, and also the pavillions there. DHS has rides like star tours and backlot tour which are not big thrill rides. I would suggest taking them on smaller rides like Goofy's barnstormer first to get them used to the idea and the rides. We have a 5 year old who although at the moment has said he will go on everything it is the first year he is tall enough to go on a lot of things and we are not sure how he will react, so we are goin to try and not over face him with big rides straight away. Shows like Mickey's PhilharMagic are also good for children. I would suggest buying a guidebook which will tell you most of the things you need to know. We have many but by far the best is 'The Unofficial guide to Walt Disney World' it tells you everything Extra Magic hours and has plans for days in each park! Hope this helps a little!
