Messenger Bag & Regular Carry On?

What to carry around in messenger bag at Disney?

  • Answer:

The less, the better. Remember, after a long day of walking at the parks, every extra thing that adds extra weight is going to start to hurt! So be sure you bring only the essentials. Also, keep in mind that if you plan to do water rides, you may want a waterproof bag instead, or you may want to put your valuables inside of waterproof bags or Zip-logs bags, inside your messenger. I try to travel as light as possible. Sunglasses and/or hat, cell phone, ticket, credit card and ID, and lip balm. Sometimes gum, sometimes extra sunblock for a reapply or those little sunscreen wipes that travel well and take up less space. You *can* bring snacks, water, etc. Personally, I know it would save me money, but I don't want to lug it around. I would just rather spend a few extra dollars and buy it. If you have a favorite medications in case of common ailments, such a headache, bring a little tube of it.

From my many trips, here's what I would suggest :) -sunscreen -water bottle (preferably refillable) -wallet, id, credit cards, cash- although if you are staying in a Disney resort you can charge all purchases to your room -room key -cell phone -jacket-thunderstorms are common during the summer and you may want it when it gets cooler in the evening -map of the park -camera -snacks-especially if you are traveling with children so they can snack in line Hope I've helped, enjoy your trip!

I carry around a small, water-proof bag with a long adjustable strap and I wear it across my shoulder for extra security. Inside, I bring my ID, Key to the World card, money (I keep most of my money in the safe back at the hotel and just take enough for the day), chap stick with added SPF, sunglasses, Tylenol (or some type of pain reliever), gum, and a small hair brush with an extra hair tie. A poncho is also a very smart item to carry around...they are $8.50 in the parks so maybe you should get one at a dollar store or somewhere where they are sold for much cheaper. Also, bring an extra pair of socks (if you are wearing sneakers). If it rains or you get wet on a water ride, socks can come in handy!

You'll want to keep it as light and small as possible, so only the necessities should be taken. Forget the sunscreen unless it's a water park day and apply it before you go. -Wallet with key to the world/ticket, money and ID -Water Bottle -Camera -Extra shirt or pants if you have young ones -Cell phone -Rain ponchos for everyone. I can't stress this enough! You'll want to go through the rain and avoid the lines, throw on a dollar store poncho and keep going, they're life savers. -Wipes, especially if you have young kids. Things may get sticky, and you don't want to have to find a bathroom or wait in a long line -Ziploc bags. Multi use, but I put them here because you should put all Electronic devices in them before going on a water ride. -Autograph book if you have one Obviously, bring sunglasses or a hat, but that will be on you and not in the bag. A couple suggestions for the bag is to switch between people so no one gets too tired. No one is going to be happy lugging a bag around all day. Good luck, hope this helped
