What are the best resorts in Mallorca?

Disney Resorts, Value Resorts, transportation?

  • Yesterday my boyfriend and I arrived home from a 10 day stay at Disney's pop century resort. Both of us really enjoyed ourselves and the time away was greatly needed. One of my VERY FEW complaints is the transportation to parks. On more than 3 occasions we waited close to an hour for busses to the park or from the park back to the hotel. Only one or two times we waited less than 45 minutes. Busses to other hotels seemed to come much quicker. We stood in line for a half hour (at the end of the line, with no chance of getting on the first bus that came, or the second)..and no busses came for Pop Century, however every 5 minutes it seemed that the other value resorts had busses comming. My boyfriend and I would like to go to disney again next year along with my family (3 young siblings, under 10 years old) and I really dont want to have to wait in these lines. Any of the other value resorts better with transportation??

  • Answer:

We've stayed at Disney All Star Movies twice (Value Resort) and found the transportation OK. We went during slower times of the years, so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it. The last time we stayed at the Caribbean Beach resort. Can't say anything about the bus system, we had rented a car. Which worked really well since we went off property a number of times. It was nice to be able to drive to the parks, not waiting for buses but then we had to park and wait for trams to take us to the gates. So we've learned that there are times we have to wait. Planning to get to the parks as soon as the bus systems start. And leaving before the end of the day when the mass of people rush to the gates. I didn't care for Caribbean Beach as much as I like the Value resort because it was so spread out and the food court area opened later than I like. It may be worth renting a car for you because of the ages of your siblings. Makes it easier to go back to the resort during the day for breaks, which the younger ones might need. If you stay at Disney property, you park free. Have Fun

If you are going to stay at a value again I would suggest Pop Century because they are smaller than the All Star, and therefore have their own bus line, instead of one bus for all of the All Stars. The moderate resorts are pretty good on the buses, so anyone that you pick would be fine!

My parents are at Disney now. They are staying at the Dolphin and they haven't had any complaints. It will make a difference if you stay closer in the park. Were there signs about how often the buses run? That is a problem. I've stayed at different hotels (Grand Floridian, Yacht Club, Beach Club, Condos/Timeshare (forget the name), Contemporary, Polynesian, Disney (value, older), etc.). The tram is great but the lines for it can be quite long. I think I liked the Yacht and Beach Clubs best because they were within walking distance of Epcot. It's been a while since I've been there. I used to go once a year for many years. I would recommend moving in closer. I think Pop is on the outskirts and that could be a big factor in why it takes longer. But you could be waiting just an additional 15 minutes than at some of the other resorts. It's still going to be a wait regardless.

Transportation always sucks to the value resorts...lol! I HATED it the year we stayed at Pop...upgraded to moderate for the next year and WILL NEVER stay value again. Port Orleans Riverside is so worth it. You get the slide with the pool and the free water taxi to downtown disney. Bus transportation was no problem for us...which with 3 kids that trip made it so much better. The year we stayed at pop we had 2 sleeping kids after an hour in line that night and trying to load them and the stroller onto the packed bus was the biggest nightmare in the world!!!

if the bus was late later at night its because the parks were closeing and there wasnt enough bus's to take everyone back to there resort at the same time. I have never stayed at pop century but if there was more then 3 stops then that could be why it was late if you stay at like a resort like port orleans(moderate) then its quicker because theres only one stop. and like contempory(deluxe) only has one stop and the contemporay also has a monorail that goes through it. i hope i helped.

YES! The deluxe resort busses come first, then the moderates, then the values. Sorry. Next time, stay at Port Orleans, it is so much better and the bump up from value to moderate is easily seen!

moderates have busses too--I don't know about the wait--I usually drive b/c you don't pay for parking when you stay on the property. I hate waiting!! If you can do it--definately stay at one of the delux hotels on the monorail--I do the Polynesian--it's fast to Magic Kingdom and Epcot~~
