Multiple Questions About Disney World?

  • So I was thinking of convincing my Dad to go on a family trip next summer. I heard Disney World was a really cool place to go. But I had a few questions about it. 1.Which water park is better if you like thrill rides, but you are from a cold place? Why? 2.How long should you stay in Disney World if you want to do EVERYTHING? Visit every park, maybe go back to a few. Relax. Go to the shows, ETC 3. Which hotel is the best to bring the family together but relax? Why? BONUS: Which is your favorite park/ride? Why? TY for all who answer in advance, please no mean answers :)

  • Answer:

Blizzard Beach in the newest waterpark (been there for a while, though) so it might have slightly newer things. If you watch the Top Ten WaterParks on the Travel Channel Blizzard Beach is always highlighted as one of the top ten. If you have never been there before you will want to try and have at least a week. If you plan your day ahead of time you should be able to get through everything. Just remember that this is supposed to be a vacation. All of the Disney Resorts are planned with family in mind. It really depends on your definition of "relax." The Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground offers horseback rides, a petting zoo, fishing, bike rentals, etc. If you want to relax in a pool every resort has one. Likewise, every resort has at least one arcade. My favorite park and ride is the Pirates of the Caribbean at Magic Kingdom. You are correct that the Contemporary does have a monorail running right through the middle of it. It is also the cheapest of the monorail resorts followed by the Polynesian and then the Grand Floridian. For a family on a budget I would recommend the Pop Century. It is a Value Resort and is the newest of them all. It also has it's own bus service as the All-Star Resorts all share buses. If your family like to camp the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground has tent camping, RV camping and cabins that can be rented. Tent camping is the cheapest way to stay at Disney.

1. I think Blizzard Beach is better because it has one of the tallest water slides in the world. But Typhoon Lagoon also has one of the world's biggest wave pools which is so fun! Typhoon Lagoon also has Crush 'n' Gusher. So it is just personal preference really. 2. To do everything you need a good two weeks. I went for 9 days last year and I didn't come close to doing everything! I recommend going for 8-10 days so you don't wear everyone out! 3. I think the best resort to stay at to bring the family together is the cabins at Fort Wilderness! They sleep six and they have a full bath and a full kitchen so you can eat breakfast there and stuff! They have a bedroom that sleeps four (a bunk bed and one full sized bed) and in the living room they have a queen bed that comes out of the wall. I stayed there with my family (there were 13 of us so we had different cabins for each individual family) and it was the best! We are staying there again this year! It has transportatioin to all the parks and water parks and Downtown Disney! It is so fun! I totally recommend it! BONUS: My favorite park is Hollywood Studios because it has the Tower of Terror and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster which are my two favorite rides! Hope I helped!

1) Blizzard Beach has more thrill rides. It's actually a very cool concept. It has one of the world's tallest water slides! TL is also really neat - the landscaping is amazing and the wave pool is awesome. I don't know which one I would choose, I love them both.. however if you want more thrills the rides at BB outweigh those at TL. TL Has a more tropical feeling though, and I loved that (was there 2 weeks ago).If it helps, I'm from Canada.. snow here all the time. The pools are heated everywhere around Disney and are very warm. 2) To stay at Disney and do all the parks etc I would stay probably 10-14 days. Also if you drive, add a couple more days onto that because you'll need a full 10-14 days in Orlando if you plan on doing everything at Disney. It's long enough because you can do all the parks, relax and even go shopping and explore other places in Orlando / the area (for example driving down to Clearwater Beach or up to Cocoa for the day). You should also check out Downtown Disney and the Boardwalk at night! There's some cute restaurants and neat shops. Orlando also has some great shopping at Premium / Prime Outlets, and the Florida Mall. 3) As for hotels - all the ones in Disney have a great family atmosphere so whichever one you chose would be a good choice. Personally, I like the Beach Club, because of Stormalong Bay (a sand-bottom pool!) It's a Deluxe resort (making it one of Disney's most expensive) but it's money well spent. Caribbean Beach and the Port Orleans resorts are nice moderate ones. Pop Century is the best value resort. If you stay off property, you don't get the perks like Extra Magic Hours (which allows hotel guests to stay longer in the parks .. for example they have evening ones which could be 11-2 AM or 8-9 am in the morning.) and you don't get use of the complimentary transportation or free parking. Some downtown disney hotels do have access to this, although you should just stay on property. We always rent a house through http://www.villadirect.com ,or http://www.allstarvacationhomes.com .. they have a full kitchen, private pool and all the amenities you would expect to find at your own house! They are also less than 3 miles to Disney for most gated-resorts. BONUS: My favourite park is the Magic Kingdom. It's just so magical, and cute. I love all the characters, the fireworks and Cinderella's castle. My favourite ride is probably Splash Mountain (themed from Songs of the South), or Space Mountain. It's a Small World & Dumbo are pretty high up there too. No matter which parks you go to, you will love it. Epcot is really cool if you like learning about the future and other countries. OTHER TIPS: - Add the park hopper + water parks & fun onto your Magic Your Way tickets. This way, you can go to more than one park in a day and visit the water parks whenever as well. - The dining plan is also great. You get 1 snack, 1 counter service and 1 sit down meal per person, per day. This allows you to eat at all the Disney restaurants, and all you pay for is the tip. They usually have a promotion in the summer months for free dining, so make sure you keep an eye out for that! Anyways I hope this helps you out a bit! :)

1) If you want thrill rides, Blizzard Beach is the better option simply because it has more. It is also home to Mount Summit Plummit, the tallest water slide in the country. 2) It's impossible to do everything in one trip. I've been to Disney World 20+ plus times and still have never seen everything it has to offer. If you want to see the basics and still relax I would suggest, two days for Magic Kingdom, one day for Animal Kingdom, two days for Hollywood Studios if you want to see all of the shows, it's too hard to schedule seeing each show in one day and two or one days for Epcot depending on if you want to seperate the World Showcase and Futureworld sections of Epcot which are both large enough to be parks within themselves. 3) All of the Disney hotels are great. I've stayed at the most exensive, moderate and value hotels. My favorites for each: Deluxe- Wilderness Lodge. Moderate- Carribean Beach. Value- Pop Century. The Contemporary Resort does have a monorail, along with The Polynesian and the Grand Floridian. The hotel is nice but I don't think it's worth the price, the other deluxe resorts are much nicer. The room is said to sleep five people. Enjoy.

you are right when thinking that disney world would be a cool place to go. it's my favorite place on earth, and i think i can help you out. 1. It really depends. Blizzard Beach has the tallest and fastest single-person slide in the world. I have always been too chicken to go on it because im afriad my swimsuit will fly off lol. Blizzard Beach has a lot of variety in their rides and slides. But personally, I like Typhoon Lagoon better because i love swimming with the sharks and also i love the Crush'n'Gusher (a watercoaster). Plus the wave pool is tons of fun. But if you buy your magic your way tickets and want to go to one of the waterparks, just add the waterpark fun and more option and you will be able to visit both waterparks (which can be done in the same day). You will also be able to do things such as DisneyQuest in Downtown Disney (multiple floors of gaming and cool stuff to do). 2. Okay, the truth is, if you stayed at Disney World for a whole month, you probably wouldn't be able to do EVERYTHING. Disney has sooo much to offer. My family usually stays about 10 days and still are trying to fit everything in. I would recommend 7 at the MINIMUM. That would be one day at each of the 4 parks, 2 days for relaxation/waterparks/downtown disney, and 1 day to go back to your favorite park. 3. All of the Disney hotels are great for families and also great for relaxation. What you really need to look at is your budget. Disney offers 3 different levels of resorts: Deluxe (high price range), Moderate (medium price range), and Value (low price range). These would be my personal recommendations for the different levels of resorts: Value: Pop Century (great for families on a budget, especially ones with kids, newest value resort and has its own bus line unlike the allstars) Moderate: Port Orleans Riverside (very comfortable, love the food court, tons of extra stuff to do at hotel) Deluxe: Polynesian (great because the monorail runs through it, love the pool, the rooms are amazingly nice, and i also love the hawaiian feel) BONUS: I love all the parks. But my favorite would have to be Magic Kingdom because its the one that really gets you feeling like you're at Disney. My favorite rides? I can't pick just one. Here's my top five in no particular order: 1. Splash Mountain (Magic Kingdom) 2. Expedition: Everest (Animal Kingdom) 3. Rock'n'Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith (Hollywood Studios) 4. Dinosaur (Animal Kingdom 5. Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (Hollywood Studios) For the Contemporary: Yes, the monorail does run through it, which is very convenient. It depends on which room you get on how many people the room sleeps, but most Disney rooms sleep 4-5 people. I have never actually stayed there but i have gone there to eat at Chef Mickeys multiple times and it seems like a very nice hotel. But if you are gunna go for deluxe, i would recommend going to a different one because it really doesn't seem as nice as the others. Like i said polynesian is my favorite, but I love Beach Club, Wilderness, and Grand Floridian also. hope i helped!

Disney world is beat, there are very few rides. It is definitely not worth the money. The water parks are cool though. You should go to universal studios. There are a lot more rides and you can always find a good deal on tickets.

To really experience everything that Disney has to offer you need two weeks, especially if you want to make return trips to some of the parks, its just to big. shorter vacations require more trips, but you should check out disney.com and have them send you a vacation planner, I myself have been four times and have taken my daughter once, although we plan to return next year. I love it every time, for the budget conscious family, the value hotels on the property are great, they have pools and cafeterias on site and provide transporation to all the parks. I believe Disney only has one water park with plenty of thrills, if you want off site entertainment the is universal studios (about 30 mins away from disneyworld) they have a mixture of rides based on your favorite movies. my favorite part of the disney comple is Epcot Center, i like to visit the different countries and the it's really cool. but the whole park/complex is a wonderful experience, and its ever changing things that were there when i was a kid have been replaced and new things have been added all the time. good luck in convincing your family and if you do go have fun.

1.Which water park is better if you like thrill rides, but you are from a cold place? Why? Go to the shows, ETC I think staying at least 1 week if u wanna see eveything. 3. Which hotel is the best to bring the family together but relax? Why?My favorite hotel is the dolphin resort, we had such a good view of the boats passing by and we can walk to epcot from there. BONUS: Which is your favorite park/ride? Why? MY favorite ride is Rock'n roller coaster, Because its the biggest thrill ride.

1. If you are looking for good rides at the Disney water parks, I think Blizzard Beach will be your best option. They have tons of rides and attractions, and is a great way to cool off in the Florida heat. Here is their website: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/blizzard-beach/ 2. I would suggest staying for 6 nights, 7 days. That should be enough time to experience at least a majority of what Disney has to offer, and allows for a little extra time to relax at your hotel, go swimming, take a side trip, etc. If you really want to do everything, it will probably take you 10 days or more and a lot of expenses. 3. One of the best Disney hotels that I have stayed at is the Old Key West resort. The rooms are like full-size apartments, and the resort is quiet and the service is pretty good. Bonus: My favorite park would be Epcot - Test Track and Mission Space are awesome rides! Hope this helps!

TL is better for families...BB for others without small children... Try Caribbean Beach resort or Port Orleans...both moderate resorts. Bus service has improved.
