i'm going to Disney world florida next march. i've found a hotel called the Grosvenor resort and it's right by downtown disney. i like it but it seems quite expesive as there is only 2 of us going as someone has dropped out i would ideally like to be near to disney world and the down town disney area but also close to malls so i can do some shopping? Does anyone know any good but not too expensive hotels. i wanna spend about £600 for flight and hotel. i'm booking it through expedia, so i have the list of hotels, but i want to know peoples views on hotels that they have stayed in florida. also do must hotels near disnet have a shuttle service to take you to disney world and the down town disney area?

Answer:
If you're looking for cheap, try the hotels on International Drive. Most of them aren't the best. They're geared towards families on the cheap and so they don't spend a lot of money on upkeep. They have shuttles to Disney, but they will have limited schedules to get to the park especially in March and be packed with people. The Disney hotels are nice. But the value resorts which is what Disney calls its less expensive accomodations are filled with lots of children and more like a large motel complex than a hotel resort. The shuttles to the parks are usually packed like sardines and often you will stand for the trip. You will get the Extra Magic Hours and Disney will pick you up at the airport. You don't even have to wait around for your luggage. They will send you a specail luggage tag to put on your luggage telling them who you are and which hotel you will be staying in. You'd be able to rent a car at Alamo near the Magic Kingdom for the things you wanted to do outside of Disney. They pick up from all of the Disney hotels. I however think that the Downtown Disney hotels are the way to go. They cost a little more, but to me it's worth it. After I've spent all day at the park, I'd like to be able to relax a little. I've stayed at the Disney World Hilton, which is near the Grosvenor, the last few times we went to Orlando. You can walk to the shops at Downtown Disney. It's 10 minutes by car to either the Millenia Mall (the expensive mall) or the Florida Mall (still upscale, but more middle class). There are outlet stores just on the other side of the interstate. The concierge can give you directions. The park shuttles, which most of the Downtown Disney share, are much more quiet and relaxed. We choose the Hilton over the others, because the Hilton is the only Downtown Disney hotel to have the Extra Magic Hours, where you get extra time in the park after they throw out those who stay at other hotels. You can see a lot more of the park in those 2 hours when it's nearly empty. Enjoy your trip to Florida.

The Grosvenor is one of the "Downtown Disney" hotels that is not owned by Disney, but is closely associated. You will receive free shuttle service to the parks from any of these hotels. You might like to look on Disney's website or at http://www.allearsnet.com for the other hotels in this category. There are some cheaper ones located in this same area that also provide free shuttle service.

hi i went to disney world in 2005 most of the hotels in the parks were really expensive so we went to one just out side on that famous street with all the restraunts and stuf it was half the price ecause it wasnt in the parks. it was something like the holiday inn so before you decide look around a liitle out of the parks because there much cheaper just as nice because you could go out at night to malls and restraunts and being close to the parks! you can get the shuttles and also taxis ! hoped i help, good luckl, and have a nice holiday x

the BEST deal is to stay on Disney property! The Value resorts are GREAT and cost around $82 per night. It's safe, lots of pools, great theming, great food courts, game rooms, and shopping. If you stay on Disney property, you get Magical Express which makes getting to your hotel so easy. They'll send you special vouchers and labels for your baggage. When you land in Orlando you head to the Magic Express Disney area (you dont have to even get your bags, disney delivers them to your hotel room) and you get on an airconditioned motorcoach, watch disney movies, and they'll drop you off at your hotel! Same deal with going back to the airport! -they take care of everything! You'll also get transportation to the parks and DownTown Disney, the waterparks-anywhere Disney...also if you stay on property you can purchase the Dining plan which saves you TONS of money!!! about 40% and all disney restaurants are soooo awesome! I book my airfare online separately from Disney and then i call Disney to make my reservations, i highly recommend this. Staying off property you lose tons of benefits. Good luck!

I think you will save money booking you room and park tickets with Disney at one of their resorts. Give them a call and see what they have to offer. Ask for any specials they may be running also. Disney world seems expensive but really for your entertainment dollar its a good deal, and I have spoken with people who come from the UK and its a great deal for all of you, you double your money once you change pounds to dollars.

your best bet would to be not to worry about the best hotel around for the fact you will be out most of the time and spend enough money for the trip and whatever. disney is expensive so you will have to spend a bit of money.

You could stay at the Best Western Lakeside in Kissimmee on the 192 and they charge $45.00 a night. They have a shuttle bus that takes you disney world, epcot and animal kingdom.

There are over 20 resorts inside Walt Disney World and hundreds more outside of Disney property. I recommend you visit the official Disney World website to see all their resorts: http://www.disneyworld.com As far as malls, the nearest major mall would be the Mall at Millenia in Orlando. Its a very nice mall and is easily accessible from I-4, about a 15 minute drive from Disney. Here is the mall website: http://www.mallatmillenia.com Further north, you will also find The Florida Mall, the LARGEST mall in Orlando. Another must-see if your looking for shopping. Have Fun!

I think your best bet would be to stay on Disney property. If you want to stay in the Downtown Disney area there are a few Disney hotels that would suit your needs. Disney has a resort to fit any budget, and they have the two things that non-Disney resorts can't offer, the famous Disney service as well as perks for staying on site. I would check it out.
