How many people are accepted into the Disney CareerStart Program?

Arriving at the Disney World College Program!

  • If you get accepted for the Disney College I no you must bring bed linens but is there anyway you could buy them at Chatham Square, The Commons or Vista Way instead of bringing them with you? Also Is the interview hard or do they help you to relax? If you request a room with someone are you mos likely to be accepted and allowed to share a room? What should you wear to an interview for disney and how many interviews are there? Also when checking inI've read that you should arrive early in the morning but if I was to do the program the flights only arrive in the evening! Is there anyway I could reserve a room (bed!) before I arrive!(I am not from america!) Would you advise applying with about 5 people or just doing it with your sister?Which would you get more enjoyment out of do you know?(with a group or just 1?) Please write back withgenuine answers.

I would have to disagree with the previous answer. They do not accept just anyone. I completed the program in the fall of 2001, and then worked as a Campus Rep for 3 years afterward. My husband and I met on the program and we highly recommend it for college students! Now, to answer your questions: *You do not have to bring bed linens, as they are provided. However, we recommend that you get your own. Theirs are like a hotel variety - scratchy and not very comfortable. I assumed you are flying in, so you'll want to get your set of Twin Sized sheets at Wal Mart. The busses they provide will take you there anytime you wish to go for groceries, supplies, etc... So just buy them there. * You are typically paired with someone arriving around the same time you are. They like to pair students who have the same arrival and departure dates from the program. But of course, you do have a say and if it doesn't work out, you can request a room change. *Always dress professionally to an interview. For guys, we recommend dress slacks and a button-up dress shirt. A tie is optional. You'll need professional attire while on your program as well for training, Traditions class and any Disney courses, should you choose to take any. *I recommend you fly into Orlando the day befor your scheduled arrival date. Book a hotel room at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort, which is located just across the street from Vista Way. Take Mears Transportation from the MCO Airport to your hotel and the following day, simply check out and walk across the street. *Your role, or employment will have nothing to do with how many people you bring with you. You can arrive with friendsor family or come by yoursel - it is completely up to you! Be sure to visit: http://www.easybreezyplanning.com. Click on the College Program Logo. Good luck and enjoy! The College Program is a blast!

Applying for Disney College Program is the easiest thing in the world. They will take anyone, I kid you not! I did a non-personal interview meaning that I watched the presentation online and did my interview on the phone. If there are no interviews taking place where you live a phone interview is still a good option. If you are doing a personal interview though, go for a nice professional look and think how a Disney Cast Member should think when doing your interview. If you talk to the people on the program I'm sure they can help you with your flight arrival situation if not then you might have to wait it out till morning or find a hotel near the airport. For international people, they are usually shuttled to check-in from the airport all day. The reason why it is strongly suggested that you check in early is because that check-in is a very long and enduring process that will take about 4-6 hrs of your day. You may want to check all of your online stuff first after you get accepted, but I think maybe you can do your roommate request during the check in process. It is important that you and your friend do all the check in stuff at the same time. Unfortunatly, there is no way for you to buy stuff from the apartments. All the housing has a shuttle service that can take you to places other than work such as grocery store, the outlet mall, and the Wal-Mart. The Wal-Mart is probably the best place for you to go to buy all the living necessities needed to get you through the program and you can donate all of the stuff you cant take back home with you when the program is over. That's all I got. There's no shame in going at the program alone but if there are others who want to join you than that can be fun as well. Since you are coming from another country it might make the experience less stressful to have a few people you know around. Hope this helps.
