How busy Disney world is on President Weekend?

Going to Orlando fist weekend in May, should I go to Universal or Disney World?

  • There will be 4 people in my party, my girlfriend, my sister, and my brother-in-law. Ages, 24,24,29,and 32. Which would we enjoy better? I went to Universal 4 1/2 years ago and enjoyed it. Haven't been to Disney since 1997, when i was 10. Would we enjoy Disney World, or since we are all adults with no 10 year olds in our party, should we just stick with Universal? P.S, which on-site hotels are better, Universal or Disney? Thanks for the answers?

As much as I love Disney World, I'd have to say Universal. Most of the visitors your age opt for the Universal Parks and hotels. The Hard Rock is great if like a music theme. We took my daughter there last year for her birthday (14) and she / we loved it. If you stay in one the Universal hotels, your room key is an automatic Express Pass and you gain earlier entry into the parks. At night you have City Walk - absolutely a blast. If you ARE interested the least bit in music, make sure you stop in a the Hard Rock Cafe and ask for a tour. (at the front desk). Its free and very nice. They will take you behind the scenes and tour you around into the back rooms where many artifacts, pictures, and stories are. There is a John Lennon room that is private and off limits to the general public. It has actual furniture pieces etc from John Lennon's home. Its a very interesting tour and takes about an hour. Have fun !!! InTheKnowOrlando

It all depends on what you like to do most. If you are looking for adrenalin rush, terrifying roller coaster and other adventurous rides, you definitely find it at Universal's Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. Disney is the largest attraction and has four big theme parks. My favorite is Epcot and Animal Kingdom theme parks. Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios are also very nice. Disney has a variety of attractions and rides for everyone to enjoy. You can get a very short and nice information at http://www.orlandoflvisitor.com/attractions.

Although its tempting to go to Universal, it actually has less to do by a long shot than Disney, even for the age group, and because of this queueing time is less and it can feel less hassly. I would also rate some of the rollercoasters in Disney (aka Everest in Animal Kingdom) above the Universal ones, which look big but lack a lot of adrenaline rush. The Harry Potter bit of Universal is pretty good, so if you're only going for a weekend it might be worth it, but I'd still recommend Disney!

In my opinion, i think disney will be a good choice because there are four huge parks (that will take you the whole day each), and there is downtown disney which lets you shop, eat at nice restaurants, and you can see wonderful nice shows. universal is great but there are only two parks and one place where you can do some shopping, even though they have hotels, I think that disney would be a much better decision. :)

Go to Universal and Islands of Adventure(right next door to Universal) IOA is SO much better than Disney. Disney is packed full of bawling kids and pissed off parents. IOA has the new Harry Potter island too.

Definately Disney World! There is no where in the world as magical as Disney World, while there are a million places like Universal.
