How is the crowd lines Disney World 1st/2nd week of June? Recommend else I should visit besides Disney parks?
-
Thinking of staying at the Buena Vista Palace either from June 6th to 12th or May 30th to June 5th... how bad are the crowds during this time? Also, should I stay at each Disney park a day.. or should I get a hopper pass and do 2 in one day? Any recommendations of other attractions besides Disney?

Answer:
The earliest time (starting May 30th) would probably be best, but Memorial Day may be pretty busy... Park Hoppers are a matter of budget and personal preference. It will cost you about $55 per person to add the hopping feature. If this won't break you, you might want to consider it for the flexibility. The Disney parks have PLENTY to keep you busy for a full day, but you could find that you want to hit a few rides in a couple of different parks in the same day. If you have never been, you are more likely to want to do this in the last couple of days, since you will easily find enough to do in each park for a whole day your first time. My longest stay at WDW was 12 days--and I STILL didn't do everything that I had planned to do. It's a huge place. Don't make the mistake of thinking that you can really do two parks in one day. You might re-visit a park for a half day, but you really cannot do any of the parks justice in less than a day--especially in the Summer, with crowds slowing you down. If you think you won't have enough to do at the Disney theme parks, something you might want to consider INSTEAD of park hoppers is adding the "water park fun and more" option to your tickets. This would get you several admissions into the Disney water parks, Disney Quest, and a couple of other places. Also, you CAN visit a water park and a theme park in the same day WITHOUT hoppers. So, it is possible to sort of "hop" in that way As for other attractions, there are many things to do in and around Orlando--Disney, Universal, NASA, Sea World... You are limited only by time, budget, and your own interests. By the way, not to talk you out of staying at Buena Vista, but have you looked into staying at a Disney hotel? You could get a room at the value resorts May 30-June5 with base tickets for 2 adults for about $1134. There are a number of benefits of staying at a Disney resort hotel, including complimentary airport transfers, access to Extra Magic Hours, and dining plan options. I think May would be better, crowd wise will be around the same. I would do the Disney parks you think you'll like the most - the Magic Kingdom is the MUST do for Disney. Epcot is great also... you will need a full day for both. If you want to do Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studio's, you can do AK in the morning and HS in the afternoon/evening no problem. As for other attractions, I would recommend Universal Studio's (both sides are great), Sea World and there is also a ton of shopping to do at the outlets and at the Florida Mall. I hope this helps

I think it would be less crowded in May. As for the parks, Magic Kingdom will definitely take the whole day. Epcot could go either way. It depends on if you are interested in just the rides and shows, or do you want to visit the countries too? It takes longer if you do that, but if not, then a half day should be good. Animal Kingdom is definitely a half day. There isn't as much there than at the other parks. MGM is usually a whole day, you could do it in a half though. And you should go to Disney Quest! It's a fun place in Downtown Disney with all these virtual roller coasters and rides, like log flumes and stuff. It's lots of fun.

i went last year from the 29th may to the 13 june, we did a park a day which i felt was a good enough amount of time as we saw everything in the day, i would defo recommend fast pass though as the time waiting for rides can be long, it was busy when we were there but most of the staff said that it was quiete lol so im not sure what it will be like

Last summer we went the second week of June. Just to give you and idea, the longest we waited for a ride was 75 minutes, Rockin Roller Coaster! If you plan your time, use fast passes, you won't have to wait long.
