Universal Orlando...Express Pass at the beginning of June?

• Me and my husband are planning a trip to Universal Orlando and Islands of Adventure for two days during our stay from June 15th - June 23rd. Do you think the express passes are necessary if we go on a weekday? Say Monday or Tuesday? Also, is the meal plan worthwhile? This is our first trip down to Universal and we are only planning on spending two days in these two parks and spending the rest of our time elsewhere. Thanks in advance for any help you might give!

  We usually go on our vacation the week before. All the schools north of Florida will be getting out around June 18th and most people plan there trip that week. We were there the week of June 11th to the 18th and we noticed that everyone seemed to arrive the 17th. The buses were full and the lines started to get longer. To be honest if you can change your dates for a couple of days sooner, you should be able to get out the express pass. You can purchase the pass at the park so you don't have to plan ahead. If you get to the park it will tell you wait times and then decide if you want the pass or not. Just make sure you get one for both parks if you are visiting both the same day. You will need to get a pass for each day. As for the food meal I found that it did not come out to what you expected. You pay 30/meal deal the average cost of a meal is between 6-10. This is for a burger and fries. This is the same meal that is on the meal deal. So unless you plan on eating 3 meals while you are there, then skip the meal deal. Buy a souvenir cup and get refills for .79 (this was last year) or fill it up with water. Eat breakfast before you arrive have lunch at the park, and have a good dinner when you get back to the hotel. If you get the coupon magazines in the lobby you can save a bunch.
